Hey PvP elitists,

out of curiosity I'd like to know how do you finance your pewpew life? Shooting NPCs? You own a POS? Buy low, sell high? Ransom only? PI or production? Tell me!

I prefer honest answers by PvPers without 15 alts Smile

Thanks and happy shootin' !

Scams and ninja looting.

Edit: Should add on that with the ninja looting I break the material down and make it into missiles, then I sell it back to the MR's that I steal from so its a two-fer for me.

Do you smell what the Lock's cooking?

I made a few billion from making bunch novelty internet meme themed forum signatures for my alliance mates, and I've been living off of it ever since instead of completing my backlog of orders for more forum signatures.

I try to make sure that all my high-sec pvp is profitable. That means either mercenary fees or ransoms, along with loot sales. This affects not just myself, but also corp members and close friends, who are of course in on the projects. My friends are quite efficient, so we are perpetually net-positive, even if the gains are barely modest.

If I really need some quick cash, I do mid-class wormhole anomalies (also get some pvp in wormholes), and very rarely go to npc 0.0 for some ratting (usually when I need to get back sec status). I also sit on a little bit of "old money" in the form of faction/deadspace gear from my old days as a trader (read: like a quarter trillion ISK) that I usually can't find the motivation or willpower to sell. I hate under-pricing stuff to sell it quickly, so it just sits there.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

not making money for a long time. A bout 1 and half year ago was cloaked near a group killing a mom, ninja looted 2 officer mods and that is paying for my PVP since then :P

During the day, I dance naked for Japanese business men and drown my sorrows with a bottle of Jack afterward. At night I work the local corners and sell my body for whatever I can get so that I can pay for PLEX.

It's a rough way to keep myself in officer fitted pvp violence boats... Cry

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Titans on fire outside "The Alamo" of NOL-M9. I watched massive Super Capital fleets glitter in the dark near the BKG-Q2 gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...  Time to die.

Angel missions, these days, plus the occasional market opportunity that's so positive-sum that even a thicko like me can extract some profit from it: "Hmmm, CCP are boosting AFs, I know I'll buy a couple of bill worth of AFs and sell them for 2.5B in a week, sweet that's this month's PLEX paid for with 2 minutes work"

I made out like a bandit when Logis were buffed also, that was p good. Also one time a long time ago I found like 25 Stilletoes for sale at like 3.5M ISK each in Curse, hauled them god knows how many jumps to the warzone in Feythabolis or somewhere a self-scouted iteron 5 (5 journeys!) with a cloak and sold them for about 18 or 20 each. That was when I had only a few mill SP and the biggest ship PvP I could fly was a Flycatcher or a Manticore, so it paid for about 10 ships for me (plus I made a good margin reselling the Ity5 Bear )

Rule of thumb if you're living in 0.0 and you find yourself importing some ship or mod because it's not available locally: import another 5 or 10 for the local market and sell them for enough to get 2-3 free for yourself. Your alliance mates will; be happy that the ship or mod is available, you effectively get your stuff for free.

If all you want is enough ISK to pay for PvP ships, and you can take the trouble to pick it up, then EVE pretty much rains ISK on you. The only really hard work part is acquiring your initial working ISK - once you've got a bill or two in your wallet, you almost have to be trying not to make enough ISK to putter along.

PS Oh yeah and also try not to lose ships like an idiot too often; not doing that so much helps balance the books a lot.

I used to just go into someone elses territory in a cloaked ratting ship and find a valuable system that a bot has been working, then I just ran the belts he chained.

So close...
