A more characterized fleet of the militia could increase immersion, but should nto be doneat cost of making people feel obligated to fly ships they do not like.

Somethin glike a 3% bonus to LP gained when you complete the plex or make the kill with ships from your own faction should be enough to push people that do not car for wich race of frigates they are flying whiel not making nayone else feel pressured.

I just checked and have no Gallente skills whatsoever. I usually take an exotic dancer in my cargo for lolz. Would that help?

The reduction in logistics associated with purchasing and then using faction navy ships is more than enough incentive to fly them. You can cut out three time consuming steps in your logistics chain by using your own faction's ships.

Faction Ship Model:
LP ----> Faction Navy Ships ---> Drop ship a ton of them wherever you need --> Pew ---> LP --> repeat.

Other ships model:

LP ---> Faction Stuff ---> Drop ship to market hub ---> Sell over time ---> Purchase Ships -----> Drop ship to wherever you need ---> Pew ----> LP ---> repeat.

"Ships and modules are mearly tools; You wouldn't use a wrench to put in a screw if you could also use a screwdriver."

I lied :o

Well truth of the matter is, some "railing" is always needed in order to give the game shape. The same way the game "forces" us to not dual tank or put beam lasers on our Hurricanes, FW can nudge us into certain aspects of the game as well. FW is suppose to be unique. Really puts the "faction" in FW no? It actually forces people to create new doctrines. If people think that so far what we have in Eve for doctrines is the end all be all of the possibilities, that is sad. "Forcing" people (actually giving them a small bonus for flying their faction's ships) will make them create new tactics and doctrines.

Give up. You will never win this argument because CCP can't risk upsetting all the people who spent time training for the FOTM.

Also, you have to understand that factional warfare will never look like what CCP put on their trailers: big scale encounters of faction ships. That's just to make the fool renew their subs. What you get instead is a bunch of people in trashers and drakes jumping into low-sec to do PvE, zero faction PvP, all the while getting ganked at gates because you can only field something smaller than a BC at most FW outposts so all pirates can expect easy prey. To sum it up, FW is pretty ********.

The Taliban use american and russian weapons even though they hate both nations. Because what they could produce on their own (rocks and clubs) is not as good for what they want to do. People will use the best weapon they can get their hands on. So this argument is invalid even from a RP point of view.

RP wise it doesn't really make sense.

We're not the faction Navy, we're Militia. We bring what we have and what we can get that works. Simple.
(Although that won't stop me personally flying All Amarr, All the Time! I can't speak for my comrads, nor would I want to.)

Your goals may align with some ... and with others, collide with the force of suns.
