Oh lordy. Oh Lordy lordy lordy.

I think I must have gone blind when I looked at it, because that fit made zero sense to me.

Shall I run you through it?

Right. He's got arty, because you need to have alpha. Alpha is king, right? But you can't always track your enemies, so you have to have some missiles, so you can shoot those pesky frigs that orbit under your guns. Um.

A warp disruptor is self-evident; you don't want anyone getting away from your *choke* DPS. You want to bait people in with a shield booster on an armour ship, so you've got to have one of those. But you need some buffer, so your enemies don't miss the fact you are shield boosting. Cap booster, well that's very damn effective on account of your capless guns, see? leaves more cap for tanking! Um.

Overdrive for more maneuverability. Gimps your cargo a bit, I admit, which is maybe the only flaw with the fit since you're running off cap bosters. Of course, since you are ging fast, you need to be able to turn faster, so you must have an i-stab. CPU, because all this is hard to fit *choke*, and a CFC to give you more cap. But, er, it gimps your shield recharge. But no worries, you have an active shield tank, so dodged a failfit on that one! Phew! Which leaves us the armour rep, in case you dip into armour through the beastly shield tank. BCU and gyro to add DEEEEPS, and a DCU in case you accidentally bait-tank too much in armour and they touch into hull.

It all makes perfect sense!

Or open hangar, right-click fit all. Occam's Razor.

Ohhhhh. That guy's a fitting genius.

TBH, I actually do fit a DCU on most of my ships. Pros/cons?

Pros: You get more EHP
Cons: It's harder to kill you

Not really wormhole space, but happened outside a wormhole.

Our first nullsec connection after moving into a C5, scout pops out and sees a Thanny on grid with the hole. It manages to warp off before he can point it. Thanny then warps back with a different pilot (same Thanny) and gets pointed. In the interim, we've formed up a gang to kill it.

Turns out they changed pilots because the first guy couldn't use the T1 medium bubble in the cargohold.

Also, setting your forcefield password to the CEO's name is not a great idea. I wonder if those guys noticed their own dreads were top damage on their tower loss.

While flying a quickly thrown together probe (yep, no cloak for me), I found a C1 WH with the intention of doing some anoms on my way through.
D-scan showed one drake and a quick scan revealed two anoms left in the system, so I quickly warped to my entry hole with the intention of coming back in something cloaky with actual dps.
However, on the way out, the guy must have caught me on his own D-scan, because he commented on the name of my ship in local.
I didn't answer, but simply left the hole and went on a seemingly endless jump-tour from the backwater hi-sec-system I came out in, to the nearest trade hub, where I bought and fitted a pilgrim. After that, I, naturally, had to do the whole jump-tour again to get back to the whole, which must have taken me altogether about 30-45 minutes.
I was pretty sure that my efforts were for nothing, but to my surprise, the drake was still on D-scan.
So I warped to the first anom, and there he was, happily murdering the weak C1 sleepers in his drake.
I knew I probably didn't have the dps to break his tank, and I sure as hell didn't have the tank to suck up both his missile damage and the damage from the remaining sleepers, so instead, I just slowly maneuvered closer, making sure to keep both him and the sleepers far enough away from me that they wouldn't decloak me. Or so I thought.
Suddenly, one sleeper cruiser got a little too close for comfort, so I decided to warp out in order to stay cloaked. At this point I figured he must have dismissed the probe on D-scan earlier as nothing to be worried about. However, just as I warped out, the sleeper decloaks me anyway, so the moment I start warping, I must have shown up in his overview no longer than 10 or so km away. This would freak me out if I was ratting, and I was cursing at myself for noobing up my first real WH space solo kill. The guy even wrote in local again for me to stop poking around and join him instead.
Now, I don't know about you guys, but I still have enough e-conscience left that when people talk nice to me and act sympathetically, I have a hard time pulling the trigger...
Still, I decided to still hang around, because if he was brave (or silly) enough to actually try to salvage the wrecks, I might be able to make a little cash from popping his ship when we was done.
But seriously, who would do that, given the events which had just taken place?
3-4 minutes later, the drake disappears from D-scan. Instead, a noctis shows up. So I warp back in at some distance and sure enough, there he is again, salvaging the wrecks.
I just knew that this was a trap, but I was at peace with that. I wanted to see where this was going, so once again I maneuvered closer and waited for him to finish salvaging.
When there was only one wreck left next to the noctis, I clicked approach, uncloak, and hit the AB in order to delay his warp if possible, then got the lock and scram. Then I unleashed the drones and neuts.
Strangely, no nasties uncloaked or warped in. Instead, he just abandoned the ship (I failed to get the pod, sadly) and warped out.
Me, I finished the noctis, looted the wreck and warped off, wondering how somebody could be so incautious.
Oh, and the noctis dropped all MNRs and most of the tags :)

TL;DR: I manage to valiantly engage an unarmed ship and kill it, despite the other pilot having had plenty of warning that he was being hunted.
The guy has plenty of kills and losses on battleclinic, so he should know better, I guess.

Strange as it gets, he just may have gotten soft of all the killings. It happens.

Bob Artis, you will be missed.

question: why kill the noctis instead of hijacking it?

I should buy an Ishtar.

Because the pilgrim is a much more expensive ship..

Edit:
And because I don't have any alts or friends to help me at the time, so I couldn't have both (most likely).

Few weeks ago, roaming w/ corpmates, we stumble on a system, 2 poses, a drake and 2 orcas on dscan.

Find them, warp to pos.... QuestionQuestionQuestion

Wtf is one orca doing 400k from the pos?!?!?! Coms go nuts, we look more closely, the other orca is 70k from the pos, getting bumped back in by the drake. Someone f*cked up the settings.

We ninja the orca @ 400k. The Drake then starts shooting at the orca he's bumping to prevent a second theft... and the guns blow him up. He then reships to a tengu, goes back out of the shields, but unfortunately he'd fixed the settings. We were seriously hoping he'd get blown up again.

Orca. 2 carrier bpc kits in the hold. It was a good day.

There was 1 SMA and 1 CHA. Immediately after I asked, 4-5 people spoke up, we formed up with stealth bombers, a cloaky hauler, and a capsule or 2. Less than 10 minutes after I found the POS, we popped the 2 modules, and were looting as fast as we could. It took maybe 2 minutes before the first enemy ship landed, but we noticed almost as soon as he did, and GTFO'd.

We ended up with a myrm, a rapier with a nice faction web, a bunch of BPCs, a few BPOs, and an Imp navy EANM. Not bad for about 7 minutes work.

*snippity snip*

Nice, I see you found the Myrm I left behind.... To bad the multiple faction-fitted helios didn't drop.... Guess that's the RNG showing you some love.

I gave it a good hours thought, and literally could not come up with a rational arguement for doing that. I thought of many irrational ones, but no one needs to hear about the Banana King perched atop the Ship Array waiting to destroy all comers with his mighty Banana Atomic Nanofield Dispersion Tool.
