Can a Stealth Bomber provide fire support in missions?

If it catches aggro, it's very likely to. So don't make it catch aggro, and it should... work. Kind of.

Can't imagine ever preferring to have a SB tag along over the more traditional candidates on any high sec mission, though.

The new lockbreaker module would be quite nifty on a Stealth Bomber, wouldn't it? The reason I ask is because I fly a Hurricane normally, but I trained for a Hound just because I wanted to try it with the new model. So I'm kinda wondering if I could tag along my corp mates on their Lv4 mission ops or keep soloing Lv3s in my Hurricane and just keep the Hound as a pet project rather than training heavily for it.

cant fit the new lockbreaker module to anything smaller than a battleship hull. :P

as for the stealthbomber, afterburner + shield extender tank, orbit at around 40-50km from the rats and you will be fine.

I did this for my corp mate who was doing mining missions. There were some missions with waves of drones he had to defeat before mining and it took too long to kill them and switch. So I flew my Nemesis with a 1mn Afterburner II, a damage control II, an adaptive invulnerability shield II, a signal amplifier, and then my launchers and what not. It worked pretty well, the smaller ships were a pain when they closed in on me (but his drones took care of them easily enough) and the cruisers were cake.

use a kiteing fit on the bomber

if you got fairly decent skills you should be able to get 70-80km out of jav torps.

use ab fit... medium shield extender and you should be able to tank for few min (enough to wartp away if **** happens)

Also, match your bomber to the damage needed.use hound against angels, purifier vs sansha or blood, etc. A Target painter and medium shield extender is a must. Let your partner in a tanky shop get agro.

I support a domi pilot in this manner, providing dps against battleships while the domi used drones to kill the frigs and cruiser rats. (domi pilot was training as a carrier pilot so had great tank and drone skills, no weapon skills).

Lastly, don't forget your turret mounts. With no cloak (for hi sec, you don't need one) you can usuallyount 2 200mm acs to help POP any frigate that may scram you. For low sec (and even some nul ratting fits) keep the cloak and use 1 ac.

Yes, it can do this. You can fit an MSE for enough buffer. As long as you run your AB continuously you can speed tank most of the damage.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.
