I Just got this kick ass Alienware and runs eve with no lag with everything on high. My only problem is when i start clicking and right clicking on things when im in a fleet my entire PC locks ups and i have to kill it by pulling the power. This has only been happening with my new PC and i don't know whats causing it, iv even run the eve repair tool to try and fix the problem and i would say it happens every 10 to 30 min when im in a fleet and it can every 2 min if im clicking on things alot. Here are my PC specs to see if its the hard ware but i doubt it because this only happens in eve but here anyway.

Grab yourself a copy of GPU-Z and check what your GPU temperatures are like when playing eve. It may be your machine is overheating when under heavy load IE when there are lots of ships on screen moving about shooting the hell out of each other.

GPU-Z Link

Once you have that installed, go to the sensors tab and check the log to file box at the bottom. leave it running in the background and start playing eve normally. If/when the computer locks up, open the log file you made (it will ask you where you want to save it, your documents is a good place) and copy/paste the LAST 10 LINES back here. The file will be huge, but we don't need all of it, just a snapshot of what's going on when the machine locks up.

Well the CPU is liquid cooled and inside the hottest it gets is around 87 F

The CPU and the GPU are not the same thing, but since the CPU is liquid cooled, is the Graphics card also liquid cooled? are there pipes that go in and out? have you checked the temperatures of the GPU under load to see if the cooling system is working?

Hardware issues are usually much easier to detect and resolve then software ones which is why i'm starting here. If the card stays cool under load then we can check out what software issues might be causing this.

I talked to my corp mate about what you said and he seemed to have found out what was the problem, it was the graphics card driver alienware set up either they gave me the wrong one or it had bugs in it. I had to uninstall it then go download the right one with no bugs and since then it hasn't locked up so i think the problem is solved thanks to your hints. Thanks man you've been very helpful \o/
