It really sucks that this happens. It's one way that EVE ends up losing players, because you know some people just say "Screw it!" after incidents like this and then never log in again.

However, I'll never get over how people can not expect their hangar to get cleaned out if/when it becomes shared. Most EVE players would probably never do that to someone, but there are plenty of capsuleers that won't hesitate to steal everything they can. Seriously, OP, use common sense. Sorry it happened, but that's EVE.

The scam however remains the same. And if a guy works hard plays hard to earn it or even if he spends real money on ccp plex to pay for it then whats the difference between the thief who ccp don't punish and the other people out there who ccp do punish for getting isk by botting rmt'ing and in this case by simply stealing what someone could have paid real money for.

Because one of those things is against the EULA.

As for the court of public opinion, more people will applaud him than will condemn him.

lol, I've always read these forums and laughed at the cynicism and avoided posting. Anyway I got my say in between the usual "u had it coming pish that gets spouted" I'll crawl back off to care bear town now with a lower opinion of.....

Smeg, as far as players go, you're the kind that keeps this game interesting, engaging, and active.

Your good attitude about being scammed is a beacon of light in this cesspool of "OMG I CANT USE THE INVENTORY AMMMGGGG" and "OMG I GOT GANKED BY A NASTY PIWATE" that has been around here lately.

I salute you and will be sending you some isk (though i'm sure it's not as much as you lost) just for playing this game how it's meant to be played.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Scamming anyone should be when it involves stealing what may have been paid for with real currency. RMT = bad. Stealing items bought with real money = yeh ok.

EULA's are updated rarely and usually only to the benefit (usually selfishly) of the game owner.

I think the point is: OP felt like this was an especially low scam. The disability isn't the point, the sucking up to somebody at a Real World vulnerable time is the point. Being sympathetic, having empathy, being a fake buddy. Kind of hard for me to imagine that some freaking MMO game currency points is worth that much whoredom to anybody. Or maybe the guy doesn't care about the isk and he's just a sick sadistic mother-effer.

Dunno, Id think YOU guys would wanna know where that line is exactly given Mittens' 30 day vacation for stepping across it.
Given the rather invisible nature of that line and what EULA rule was specifically violated FOR the infraction (also invisible) and all.

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

He is in the process of leaving yes..in stasis at this moment due to having a role in the corp. I posted to ventilate about what happened because I had thought it a exceptionally low scam. My losses are no more "important" than anyone else that is legitimately scammed in the game. I was peeved and ventilated perhaps when I shouldnt have, but to me its over with now and less is more. I appreciate the replies and will consider the matter closed.

Ah, so it was an "umad" moment and all is good. Cool.

Hope lessons were learned and situations were improved. Good luck in the future!

EVE Rule No.1

DO NOT TRUST ANYONE

EVE Rule No. 2

TRUST CAN BE EARNED

EVE Rule No. 3

DO NOT TRUST ANYONE

I am serious here, trust is the most valuable thing in EVE, but keep in mind its a game and betrayal is part of this game....if it happens...back to highsec and L4....sigh :)

Seriously, don't take me serious, I MEAN IT...seriously

Yes, obviously .... if someones physcal health is in bad shape, he needs to take some precautions, so to not become dependant on persons who you dont know well enough.
Although this is very easy to say for me, but harder for Achasse to do

But blaiming Master Shawn for this low scam in publicity on the forum isn't either such a bad idea. I myself am very willing to put him in my terribel contact list.

.... but wait damit it, thats where all the suicide gangers already resign. So all you concerned suicide gangers, you all were just promoted to the bad contact status. Bear

We are all equal once we log in -

BUT - To knowingly scam someone who is disabled is immoral.

It tells you what kind of upbringing and parents the thief had as they grew up. Shouldn't be too hard to find em either - just gotta look for a transgender meth head in a trailer park next to an internet cafe.

Karma will sort out the filthy dog turd who stole from the OP - They will wake up with arse cancer or something just as deserving one day. Maybe he does this stuff cause an uncle touches him regularly (preemptive karma???).

TBH - I am disgusted that someone in eve would knowingly take advantage of someone who is in RL difficulty.
Have some decency people.

And in the words of the wisest one to ever have existed - 'Be excellent to each other.'

if he is still in your corp why not ask him if he wants to go on a mission then blow him up when he is in something pricey.

I once scammed a blind kid playing eve, telling him to do a mission with me in his deadspace fitted tengu.
I then blew him out of the sky and he didnt even see it coming!
Then on TS he called me a bad name.
So i went to his house and bitchslapped him, he didnt see that coming either.
Thats what you get when smacktalking people.
