First a rant about Diablo

I took a week off of this game to go play Diablo 3; let's just say you would appreciate CCP a lot more right now if you took the time to play Blizzard's latest game. Seriously, just do a google search for "Diablo 3 Error 37" or "Diablo 3 Hacked." There are so many bugs and security concerns with the game right now it's not even worth playing. Blizzard's response? Nothing, just ignoring players for the most part. Oh, they do try to push blame for the security problems onto players, but then professional game reviewers (from PCGamer, etc) also had their accounts compromised; these are people who play games for a living and have never had any other security issues with other online games . Something is obviously off, but Bliz is just keeping their mouths shut and continuing to blame players.

Not too mention they completely watered down gameplay and ruined the Diablo franchise storyline. The game was even released WITHOUT PvP, and only a promise to patch it in "hopefully" by the end of 2012. It took Blizzard 12 years to make that game, and it really is a huge disappointment to anyone who played D2. It's literally the first video game I have wanted to return in years. It's that bad, and the worst part is they don't acknowledge fan feedback, because most feedback comes from 13 year old WoW players who can't form anything logical to say.

Now onto why CCP is awesome

I logged into EVE for the first time since D3 came out last night and downloaded the new patch. Sure I can see why some people are complaining (took me 2 minutes to realize the item hangar\ship hangar buttons are combined), but honestly the game is just fine. At least you can log in and play it, unlike Diablo 3. At least you don't have to worry about random security issues of people compromising your account, like Diablo 3. At least CCP doesn't try to blame you for everything, unlike D3. I have been watching player-rage threads popping up, and I have also witnessed CCP coming out swiftly to acknolwedge player feedback while promising revisions to the current new content.. At least CCP didn't take 12 years to make one game that completely ***** on a franchise you have fond memories of.

So come on people, stop raging and proudly display your hardons for CCP. At least if you're quitting, can I have your stuff?

EA/DICE did the same thing with Battlefield 3. Hell, even battlefield's official forums are called Mordor. That place is full of constructive criticism and ideas but EA/DICE refuses to listen Roll

After having such terrible experience with other devs i came back to CCP and man, they are great :)

Probably sound like such a fanboy right now, but really, ccp does what other devs don't.

You describe why I refuse to give Blizzard any more of my money.

It's not the same company who made Warcraft, D2 or the original WoW. They're a clone of EA now where what they release is to meet a bottom line.

One of my biggest draws to EVE was watching the fanfest videos and seeing how the developers are involved in the community. Arenanet seem to be taking cues from CCP and are doing similar with Guild Wars 2. Hence, I have it pre-ordered and am waiting patiently for it's launch.

I did not get SC2 or D3 because blizzard has lost touch with it's players. If CCP ever loses touch with us, I will leave this game also.

Dual Pane idea: Click!

So new game... you know it had no pvp you complain?
Error 37 was because like it had the best 24H sales in history... ya the servers could not deal with the HIGHEST NUMBER OF SALES IN HISTORY...
Eve is never ever ever hacked right lol accounts never stolen, at least the devs aint cheated yet in d3?
Unless you can example exactly how the accounts are being "hacked" let's cough it up to dumb people.

O ya and RECORD BREAKING SALES

As for eve... I'll be like you

Buddy of mine lost his account, he told me he never shared it (I trust that, guys got too many billions to trust other people with)
Said he ran CCP's stuff to check for a virus, clean, got the account back, aint lost it since. So this means it must be CCP is not secure.
CCP does blame you for everthing, if the logs show nothing, it is your fault.
CCP ignored the test server feedback forum,
CCP ignored the players a year ago till a mass unsub

eve is 9 years in and still full of bugs with new patchs just making even more bugs...

d3 12 years... and the biggest thing you got is... error 37... too many people bought the game and our servers can't deal with the load
You know ccp WISHS they had a error 37 problem with eve.

Any more stupid stuff?

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the average coherence of a post made by a Blizzard backer. Not even going to bother to respond. The Battle.net community changed for the worse when WoW was released

So what you're saying is by not sucking as badly as Blizzard, CCP is therefore excellent?

Confirming that Diablo 3 is a bad game. First play through was great. After that, its boring as hell.

If you loved everything about Diablo 2, you are gonna hate Diablo 3. It's just a bad game. Why do I need to be online to play a singleplayer game? Thats just stupid.

CCP customer service is WAYYYYYYY better than Blizzard.

EVE online is WAYYYY better than any game that Blizzard has come out with in the same time span.

We all know Blizzard is horribly corrupt.

Who else could have developed the current incarnation of World of Warcraft? Ever since WotLK, Blizzard has been purely in it for the money, not really caring about making a quality game, but suckering as many people as possible into it for the money.

ROFL. I have to wait more than 7 days for one EvE ticket, and while WOW is relatively bug-free (never lost loot or items as an example), it does happen in EvE, and even if you proove CCP's mistake, they don't care at all.

Don't want to say that EvE is not a brilliant game though.

The comparison between CCP can be made with quite a few other companies.

For example I play Tera sometimes and just recently they had a patch that created an exploit to overenchant weapons to +9 very easily. A lot of people took advantage of this exploit. It took 2 days for an official answer from Frogster, then they refused to rollback the server to pre-exploit condition even though everyone was asking for it. It took them another 2 days after that to provide a hotfix to stop the exploit and a weak promise that they would punish those who abused it. Right, by banning half their customer base I'm sure. During this time communication was handled by one community manager.

tl;dr Eve has actual devs that communicate far more often and fix stuff and patch far more quickly than any other game I've played.
This is my signature. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.  Without me, my signature is useless. Without my signature, I am useless

You know what the first thing was CCP did after opening TQ post patch (like 5 minutes after logins were opened)? go for an emergency reboot

the whole patchday they had issues with their proxy servers resulting in login queues being activated, the inventory system was working sluggish/unreliable (items would not show up in hangars, moving large stacks of items took forever) and chat channels didn't remove people taht logged off (resulting in Jita local showing 4,000 pilots and causing a loot of confusion everyhwere - this is still not fully fixed afaik).

maybe put your rose-tinted glasses down for a change.

I had been getting disconnected from d3 at least once every five minutes alongside the error. It was fairly consistent, and it would continue without any period of time where I could stay logged in for more than those few minutes.

Blizzard told me that the problem would correct itself if I joined the spammy in-game general channel and not to leave it or else my connection problems would return.

I scratched my head, wondering how in the world this could possibly make it so that I could remain connected.

I then logged in and joined general channel, which immediately greeted me with non stop spam from other players, as well as gold seller adverts.

I was then able to remain connected without a single disconnect.... Well until I forgot to join general chat again upon logging in the following day.

......I'm still very confused over it all.

Oh and for those of you that may have missed CCP poking fun at Blizzard and the Diablo 3 connection issues.
