Serious lag from opening cans and wrecks

Anyone else getting this? you go to open a can or wreck and lag for a few seconds, and if you move an item inside the can or wreck it gets worse ....... also you notice it takes longer to view what is inside the can or wreck after you click it!?

The new inventory system needs some work imo!

I get a small freeze when i open a wreck/can and there is a 1 sec delay before the loot appears. A bit annoying when someone is breathing down my neck to ninja my loot

Went from hard to ninja stuff to can't do it now.

I've been shift+clicking the wrecks to loot them, it makes it a little more bearable.

If I just click the open cargo button, then loot all from the unified inventory, it freezes my game up for 2 or 3 seconds.

I think that the time you save with being able to almost instantaniously judge how much the loot is worth on a wreck equals out to a lot less time than 1-3 seconds to calculate it and load a window.

I salvaged a level 4 Mordus Headhunters last night and after looting from the numerous cans and then performing a 'stack all' in the cargo of my noctis I went into slideshow mode for a good 10 - 20 seconds while warping off.

I wonder what's causing that lag? I haven't seen any to speak of when I loot, and my machine is virtually steam driven.

Ah, yes the newly made joys of salvaging. I opened the fps monitor while I was salvaging last night, and it looked like I was losing 10 fps every time I looted a can, and then at the end when I stacked every thing in my hold it lagged and dropped from 45-57 fps to 9 fps, while it stacked the loot.

Traded a big stack of items between two accounts, and you could watch the windows have to recalculate the items/m3/est price as each line item moved. What used to take 1 to 2 seconds was 10 to 15.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I haven't done this yet, but considering it takes me 2-3 minutes (yes I said MINUTES) to open my inventory in a station, I dread to think what it is going to do when I am in space trying to loot a wreck or a series of wrecks. I'm glad that right now all I am doing is paying for a sub to keep skills training, while I do RL things that are significantly more important than EVE.

CCP... why U fix things that ain't broke?

I won't say you are stupid, but you're not exactly on the Zombie menu either.

I'd prefer to simply loot it all and judge its value once i have it in cargo.

I want the old cans back. Keep the unified inventory, but cans do NOT need to be part of that.

I can confirm this as well. Had about 700-ish items in the hangar, dumped another 200 or so from looting/salvaging in the evening and had to sit there for like 30 seconds while the poor thing adjusted. With the old UI there was a bit of a spike, but nothing as bad as this.

May have something to do with it trying to calculate a way-off-base price estimate on everything when accessing a wreck. Useless feature imo due to it being highly innacurate at best.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I've known a lot of people have been having the same issue, including myself. I've posted a suggestion here, if you guys wanna help bumping the thread.

Alo,

It seems the more items are in the main hold of the ship the more lag you get as you loot/salvage.
What I tried as a workaround and seems to help is to put a container (Giant Secure Container) in your Noctis or (Or another size Secure container depending on) whatever ship that you use.
And when you have salvaged/looted a bit, you just dump all from the main hold to the container, inside your ship.
No need to eject the container ofc...

I don't press the "loot all" button, as that will just create more lag as your main hold fills up when you start looting.

The steps i take :

1. Tractor all wrecks and at the same time salvage them.
2. Move all salvage from the main hold to the Secure Container inside your ship's main hold.
3. Shift+click all the Cargo Containers in the overview so that all windows with loot from the salvaged wrecks are open.
4. Do not click "loot all". Select all items in the cargo container (CTRL+A), and drag them to the Secure Container inside your ship's main hold.

If you keep the main cargo hold clean, you won't slow down so much and make looting a bit more barable.

Hope this helps for you but this really needs te get fixed by CCP.
This does not help with the lag that you get from moving all the items from your GTC (or whatever size you used) to your item hangar or whatever.
It will lag and specially when you click "Stack All" the lag is really unbarable...at least with me.

It would be nice if you could toggle off the isk estimating function, I'm willing to bet that's the bulk of the lag.

So close...

Yes had this problem today. Was moving and selling about 260+ items in mission loot to sell and ended up with lag/slideshow. The loading thing on the left of the inventory kept spinning and the loot was transfered a bit at a time by the game.
