I heard Chribba was running a market analyzing program that was spotting market bots. Perhaps ask him if your mysterious outbidder pops up on his list of names?

There, that's how you recognise a bot.

Good way to test for a bot is to run a locator agent on him. Go to his station, open the trade window, put 10m into the trade window.

If he continues to update orders, or always ceases to update orders after you do this, you should probably report him.

I did this to somebody once, and I even greened it up so all they had to do was click accept and get 10m guaranteed. He just ignored it and continued updating orders.

I would agree this generally is a good plan.

however, my trade window pops up UNDER my market/Inventory window. (I know this because I trade ships / Min/Mats with my alts a lot, and when they come in and open trade, I have to shift half my windows around to find it.

So, you could have 1bn and 2 months worth of morphite in a trade window, and I wouldnt see a damn thing :(

(If I have my inventory a bit smaller, I see the bottom of the window sticking out, but you wont normally notice it. Just tested this ingame, I had Inventory, Market, Corp Assets and Assets open (which is what I usually have open even in space), trade window popped under market screen.)

this is why were here, we are merchants and its our duty to remain vigilant against market bots, else we wont make any ISK, we should keep up to date with the latest trends being talked about on the subject and play along with it.
