A damsel-in-distress, and you silly people regarding a Lai Dai statement

I've just been made aware of this press release from Lai Dai, dated back in March. It explains a lot of looks I got in the Summit FTL not long after that statement was made to specific individuals (or at least, not to me). It's hilarious. Not because the release is a flat-out lie; what else would you expect from a Patriot megacorporation regarding an enemy combatant? I'd expect the same from a Federal branch. It's hilarious because so many of you seemed to believe it instantly, unquestioningly. Like a true Caldari citizen would, but none of those who brought this up are Lai Dai.

Do any of you even have the slightest grasp on public relations? Maybe if you spoke to the subject in question like a human being, instead of treating her like some trophy you want to protect, then you'll realize that we were romantically involved that month preceding. I delivered a message that couldn't wait. By the Goddess, why would Lai Dai spin it as anything BUT something negative, like an attempted assassination? So damned naive. The State does not have a free media, is authoritarian by Gallente and Minmatar standards, yet you're more inclined to believe this than you are the Scope.

And now, the subject in question is missing. I'm a professional who can put petty disagreements aside for the purposes of a specific goal. I will do so, in this case, after pointing out the above errors you have made. With some context, now you know why it's important to me personally.

If you want to help, you'll need to get in touch with one of the Inhonores family AIs, SANDY, or Security And Network Defence Yeoman, or just Sandy. No need to yell the name to her, she's anthromorphic. Her NeoCom is SANDY AI.

Like I said, I care little what you've done before and only what you will do now. Get in touch ASAP, and we'll get whoever did this.

We have some information on the subject, but considering how you risked her life in that little... incident... we would like to be sure of your intentions before we share it. Please get in touch with us, General Inhonores.

Perceptions can be deceiving, especially when emotions are involved.

Of course, breaking into a secure facility and shooting people does not usually end well. Honestly, what did you think would happen? Or is that a rhetorical question?

I fail to see why you have such a hard-on over this article, and why you're claiming foul play on the part of the media organisation in question.

It's quite clear that they've said the story is unconfirmed, and unsupported by any hard evidence, written on assumption given the state of play between the involved entities.

If you had any grasp on public relations, you'd know that people on the opposite side of the war tend to run smear campaigns like this all the time to discredit and shine negative light on the opposing force. You just happen to be the target of this one.

Hell, I've had to deal with this kind of bullshit ever since I was slapped in the face with a court-martial. It happens.

My guess is that like other unfortunate events in your "tragic" personal life, you're yet again publicly exposing a rough patch and using it to try and win over support and sympathy.

Do us all a favour :

Can it, and just keep using and monopolising the career of that poor kid of yours to attempt to boost your reputation rather than having to make us all stomach you whimpering an self flagellation over the loss of your latest "conquest".

At least that's somewhat bearable and she talks at least a little sense.

Yes, but how about those scorpions? I've been holed up in Syndicate for days and days, now, and I've asked repeatedly for a box of scorpions to study, and not one bustling little busy boy has managed to find a single bug. In fact, there is *nothing* in Syndicate. I enjoyed myself more the week before all holed up in Hagilur. They have cappuccino in Hagilur. They have... well, "entertainment" in Hagilur. It wasn't that long ago I was rubbing my toes on a tight little torso in a fine Dam-Torsad eatery and my girlfriend said to me, "Syndicate? How ghastly," she said to me, "but at least you should be able to find a nice spot of cafe for your lait, if you catch my drift, sweetie."

Well, no, sweetie, I'm afraid I don't.

It's a bit of an intriguing coincidence that I would be bouncing back and forth between Hagilur and Syndicate... though I suppose that conversation was not public. I must say, I had *no* idea the Inatikitok endured such deprivation....

What do you mean the capacitor is empty, sweetie? That's not possible, we've only just started. Yes, I see the bloody space penis there, but we've only just started. The capacitor can't be empty. The lasers aren't firing because you're not pointing them... Well, damn. We don't seem to have a capacitor at all now, do we? End simulation!

What I personally find more telling is that you're so indignant that anyone would believe the report. Have you considered that if you had a solid reputation for integrity, honor and trustworthiness that nearly everyone would have disregarded the article to start with?

Instead, there's enough doubt in regard to your character and integrity that even an alleged allegation holds water with people. That says a great deal more about you than this article does, I'm afraid.

Mr. Inhonores,

yes, silly us.
My sources have confirmed at least some key claims made in the press release.
You might want to enlighten us with your version of the truth, seeing as this is so important to you.
As it stands now, I'd be wary to associate with you in this matter.

Ruthlessness is the kindness of the wise.

Personally, I just want Scherezad safe. If working with Mr. Inhonores will achieve that aim, I will do it gladly, and I have confirmation that the weight of the Foundations is behind me on this.

I don't think anyone disputes the fact that you're a professional, Seriphyn. I think some are just asking themselves, "He's a professional what, though?"

I'm sure there will be no shortage of people filling in the blanks there.

If there is a course that will secure the safety of the lass in question, the Honor Guard will lend its support. Political and social disagreements hold no place in matters such as this. I lack any information regarding the situation and cannot make a solid judgment as to the course of action to take, but if there is an effort made, I will do all I can.

Hey, look, even the Kuvakei dog can get over the secondary school politics of this and get a grip on the situation.

I'm sure if the subject in question was not as popular and well-liked, no one would care two bits, despite the fact that, in either case, someone is still missing.

It doesn't speak well to the purity of your motivations. You have put her life at risk once for stupid, irrational reasons. We want to be sure it does not happen again.

Perhaps teasing is a Gallente thing. The satire was that even someone with as widely-abhorred allegiances as you can drop disagreements for a certain goal.

What you just said is highly ironic, considering who you pledge your allegiance to. If you must know, SANDY's ultimate programmed loyalty rests with Anette Inhonores, who pushed for the AI to be the facilitator of all this.

Regardless, once we have judged the purity of your motivations and the risks of sharing the information we have with you, we will either bring you in or we wont. I would get in contact with Overseer Alpha, AKA Ghost Hunter. If he finds your involvement to be satisfactory, then I certaintly wont argue. Otherwise, we will continue to work with other interested parties, and her employer, who by the way does not trust you in the least after you blew up half their station to force her awake after a major brain surgery.

I've been reluctant to post on these forums, given that I'm not actually a Capsuleer - I've been issued this DED licence at the request of the Lai Dai Research Board shortly after Pilot Scherezad was released into public view. It's not my place to interfere with the lives of Capsuleers, but here we are.

I was originally hoping to keep this an internal affair, but it seems like this stock has gone public so I may as well release shares. What we know for certain is that Pilot Scherezad went missing about three days ago. We know that she's currently alive, so we're unable to activate her softclone, leaving us to try and locate her before her captors accomplish whatever it is that they want to accomplish. Fortunately, it looks like she's made some friends in her brief time in the public. I'm willing to work with you in order to ensure her safe return home. Interested pilots may contact me or SANDY AI if they want to help. Right now we need investigative and cryptography assistance. In-the-stars and on-the-ground efforts will likely follow.

We're all very concerned for her here, as information is limited right now and the clock is ticking. Thank you in advance for any efforts you may make.

As you know, Doctor, you have access to the Foundations Cryptography department, and when the time comes, we have freed up a unit of soldiers to help secure her safety. Our medical personelle are also on standby, in case of emergency.

Since you have vetted the SANDY AI, I will consider it immediately acceptable to work with it.

Good luck to all of us.
