As in one that takes advantage of the new API's?

That and afaik there still isn't any official EFT thread since the forums change...

Switch to PYFA. Better looks, in my opinion, and works with the new API.

No disrespect to the developers of EFT meant - it was a great tool. I think it has been eclipsed, however.

Yes but as you can imagine there are a LOT of people that would prefer EFT aside form myself.

I'm not gonna harp on the guys that make EFT about not having a new API-compatible version out yet, I just wanna know if it's going to be continued both in development and on these new forums...

Umm...the current EFT (2.13.4 i think and yes, still in the old forums but still easily found through google/any searching and still downloadable) works just fine as is without being fully compatible with the new api-s, just manuelly change the skill levels for your mods. Sure it's an extra minute of work but is that really a problem?

Yes, it is. Between manual tweaks to see what the next skill level will do to my loadouts and keeping up with my training progression that would be alot of wasted time doing it all manually vs just clicking the update button to update or get back to my current skills. Gives me an excuse to give PYFA a try, i guess.

Really? That toon you're on is 11months and 7days old and you can't figure out what skills you have and/or what skills you put in your queue? I mean if you had just started from scratch and everything's still only like 10~30minutes to train I could see that being a problem, but this toon I'm posting on is only 3months 3days old and everything I'm training is at least a day and a half minimum, my other toons are at a week and a half minimum for next skill up.

To each their own.

It's called planning and prioritization. Figuring out what combination of skills benefits a ship, or series of ships best, which can mean multiple changes. And even assuming I did track all of my skills in my head, which I don't, it doesn't change the fact that having a button to revert all the changes I've made to help me plan my training is faster than doing it myself. As far as the rest, the number of skills I could inject for less than 1/2 an hour training is quite large. I am only 11 months old.

Tried PYFA, didn't like it. I will happily manually configure eft for the forseeable future. If you need an easy way to reset changes made in eft just make a copy of your current character and change the skills on the new copy then delete it when you're done.

Shame you decided to waste those on this forum complaining about how a free program, that still works, now requires a bit more of each of those.

I don't see anyone complaining on here. I see some people asking if there will be an update to EFT so that it continues to work as-intended. No complaining, just asking politely if there will be an update for the new system.

I've been using EVEHQ myself

Version 2 is out and sleek as hell, covers absolutely everything you could possibly need from Skill plans, fitting, PI/Industry related stuff, poses, asset viewing

the list goes on and on and on.

Sure, its perfectly ok when you have just 1 character. I have 4 myself, and a few dozen other people who I help create fits for, some of whom I have API info for. So no, I don't particularly feel like dealing with manually updating tons of EFT character profiles, some of which I don't actually have access to the character for when a simple button click will solve all these problems. Especially since these characters range from several years old (like myself) to just a few weeks old).

As for PYFA, I don't like it. Part of that is just because its not the format that I'm used to, though yes it does gripe me that it isn't laid out like the in game market is for finding stuff (my biggest gripe with the format). However another big part is that 90%+ of everything I run involves having gang boosts, which pyfa doesn't support. I suppose that if it ever did get around to supporting that I might give it another try, but at this time it doesn't provide me with the tools that I am looking for.

And it blows my ******* mind that people will choose a program that no longer functions as intended over one that does.

What blows my mind is people that do not understand the difference between a feature of a progrom not being up to date and an entire program no longer functioning...

If I was Grippen and read this thread, I would be inclined not to bother helping the 'community' by updating secondary EFT features.

Since when is the ability to pull your skills from the API a 'secondary' feature.

Also, barring the trolling, this thread has been people just asking for info, there's nothing wrong with asking if there will be an update.

On that note, could an admin please go through and clean up the trolling?
