Price Estimates to be taxed by.

I have noticed price estimates are being assigned by the "market" on items that I own, or on ore that I mine and products that I produce in PI. As far as I am concerned, these estimates are wildly inflated! I compare those estimates with those of my region and sometimes the values assigned to products (PI) and ore, etc, is outragious! Unfortunately, taxes on sales and PI transfers are determined on these inflated prices.
Am I missing something?

Example: Estimate sale price for kernite as given by the "market": 249.00 ISK. The VERY BEST price I can sell it for in my region is 195 ISK 8 jumps away! Are we looking at sellers' average or buyers' average?

The estimated value is between buy an sell orders in Jita, I believe. The tax you pay to have PI mats shipped off a planet has nothing to do with the value of the goods, the tax is based on units.

Kernite is screwy anyway. It is used for the level 4 "Materials for War" mission and thus sells for a premium to mission runners in systems with storyline agents, but elsewhere is valued based on the minerals it refines into.

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

PI goods are taxed based off a specific value. unfortunately those values are now inflated compared to the sell price of the items.

taxes on sales are based off the actual price you sell at. (try setting an really high price on a single unit. see your tax go up)

Taxes on PI stuff are set at a base level, that you can find on the wiki.

No?

You'll just pay a shedload of tax on that sale.

Doesn't affect anyone else.
