Due to the Rokh's sleek design and my dedication to railguns , I abandoned my Amarr and Gallente routes and head on to master my shield training. However... I encountered some issues last night during my run in lvl4 (located in caldari region). I looked online to find fits for my Rokh, but very few that I found are for PVE purpose. I heard people say Rokh is inferior for PVE and Hyperion/Megathron are better option hand's down to solo encounter. But I really liked Rokh... ! Is there a way to fit Rokh for lvl4? I like sniping and railgun is my passion.

Heya,

I am not an expert at putting a fit together but here is what I came up with. Feel free to talk crap. Complete this fit with drones and you will be set I believe. Swap the invul fields for resist specific ones to increase tank. EHP listed below is based on an omni tank with maxed skills. With the Antimatter charges you still get a 54km optimal with 30km falloff.

[Rokh, PVE]

8x 425mm Railgun II (Antimatter Charge L)

2x Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
X-Large Shield Booster II
2x Cap Recharger II
Tracking Computer II (Tracking Speed Script)

2x Capacitor Power Relay II
2x Power Diagnostic System II
Damage Control II

2x Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Large Hybrid Collision Accelerator I

[Statistics - maxed skills]

Effective HP: 86,266 (Eve: 69,369)
Tank Ability: 468.08 DPS
Damage Profile - (EM: 25.00%, Ex: 25.00%, Ki: 25.00%, Th: 25.00%)
Shield Resists - EM: 66.04%, Ex: 83.02%, Ki: 79.62%, Th: 72.83%
Armor Resists - EM: 57.50%, Ex: 23.50%, Ki: 36.25%, Th: 53.25%

Capacitor (Stable at 27.19%)

Volley Damage: 2,424.55
DPS: 352.24

Fit compiled in eveHQ with latest database updates.

Meh. Neither is great, but there you go. Shell out for the C-type booster; you can always throw it on a "real" mission ship later.

Edit: both tank 428 omni and run stable with boosters. 425s push out 658 DPS with CN AM. Neutrons push 732 with Null.

In all honesty if you want shields and rails get a vindicator.

I was like you in the beginning i thought the rokh was a kickass looking ship, but for pve not so much. That optimal range bonus at higher levels gets quite unwieldy. Trying to shoot anything underneath your guns optimal means tracking becomes a significant problem. Fitting 350's sucks since their damage is worse even for slightly better tracking. After i lost my first rokh in an angels mission i traded up to the navy mega. The tracking bonus helps significantly plus MOAR damage is overall. A couple years later Im destroying everything in a vargur. Shows you how gimped rails are in pve.

Swap out for a sensor booster and a sensor amp to give you the sensor range. Iron charges will give you a 171KM optimal with a 30km falloff, spike rounds will give you a 194 optimal if you really wanna take T2 ammo into a mission.. heres the fit and details

[Rokh, PVE]

8x 425mm Railgun II (Iron Charge L)

2x Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
X-Large Shield Booster II
2x Cap Recharger II

Note the INSANE decrease in DPS from the last fit. If you want, I can build you a fit specific to your skill set but I would need your API key to put into EVE HQ. If you are interested, send me an evemail.

RAILguns.. RAIL. not artillery. You are NOT an individual snowflake! Tech 2 ammo on a rail boat can get CLOSE to those numbers and we all know that min are FOTM but some of us like to fly different ships.Blink

For that you're actually better off in a Naga. I built one and specifically ran it through Serpentis Blockade as proof of concept (no gates, long mission, range-dependent EWAR). It worked in as much as it finished without getting in to tanking trouble but I think it took something like 45 minutes. A Rokh wouldn't be fast enough or put out enough damage at range to do the same.

If you'd like I can dig out the fit. It was all T2; nothing expensive on there.

I tried for a while to get a Rohk to work for me. I can't remember my fit exactly, but I had my best results with a 350 rail fit and a 100mn MWD. You need to keep your range to make it work. I had 3 mag stabs and TE's in the low. If your drone skills are poor, don't even try as you need to get rid of the webby frigs quickly. Once you get swarmed you can get into a whole lot of trouble. Never lost my rohk, but came close a few time... I still have it.. use it to mine in the WH, or smart bomb on the wh entrance Shocked

That's how I lost my apoc lol

I can use t2 med drone, but that's it. Hammerhead II are my primary attack drones. I did my first sniping with abaddon and i was using tachyon so it took me quite some time to figured out a capable fit for it. I love sniping, because I feel like I'm in control of the battlefield. I like how they chase me from 150+ while I'm taking them out out one by one. I never PVP before, but if I do I will be playing the sniper role because that's just my personality. I like to play safe and sneaky so that my enemy can only hope for escape.

You're not getting 987 DPS. You might be getting that on single volleys, but to get DPS you need to divide that by your rate of fire -- which ought to give you a number around 300. Which isn't good.
