Is it the new way of Eve to damage modules as your ship takes damage now? I am just wondering cause I didn't see anything in the patch notes about this and my modules on my ship now take damage without overheating them.

Noticed the same thing, ran a mission where my shields did not drop below 90% and did not OH anything, ended up with 1% damage to every high/mid/low module.

Cant say if its a bug or intentional.

I'm inclined to believe it is some sort of a bug somehow related to overheating, as there is no mention of this that I can see in the patch notes about "module wear and tear." I submitted a bug report about it and was asked to give more information, among other things I mentioned not suffering any noticeable hull/armor damage according to the game client - not going past 50% shields. I'll keep you updated if I get any response on it.

I just took damage on a rig. Not sure how anyone can overheat one of those.

I am also getting module damage... and messed up rig damage, as I didn't know rigs could receive a damage value of 2.48689957516e-14 ...

Kinda annoying needing to pay 10-20k isk each mission repping my ship.

Just chiming it is a known issue and a thread in the GD forum I read late yesterday indicates it's possibly Tuxford again, said he had been playing around with hull damage bleeding to modules -code (that has been around since forever) that is now apparently more than a bit too aggressive seeing it affects shield tanked ships suffering no hull/armor damage.

When your ship takes damage, it should not damage the modules anymore. It got exacerbated due to some code changes. There will be no damage at all to modules, apart from the conventional methods.

Start hull tanking, if you want to see it so bad. :)
It is still there like it always has been. Again, the thing is, you're generally a lot more likely to get blown up before noticing module damage. It is the reason you might need to repair modules you loot from destroyed player ships.
