OK so i have a few big problems with the new user interface. To sum it up I'd say it's very irritating, time wasting, user unfriendly, repetetive & a large step back from what we had before.

Here are my reasons why:

When you dock, you want your ships and items windows to be wherever you left them, not docked in the station services panel. You want the ships/items windows to be immediately visible when you dock.

With the old system:

  • Everything is right infront of you when you dock. Nothing needs done.

With the new system :

  • you have no ships/items windows apart from in the station services panel
  • you have to open your cargo
  • hit the >> icon to expand the ships/items heierarchy list
  • expand the window so you can actually see what you want to click on
  • shift+click on ships & items to open these windows
  • hit the << button to remove the ships/items hierarchy list
  • resize your cargo window to it's normal useful state.

Prior to the changes to the UI all of these steps were done for you, because you'd done it once before, so when you docked everything was right there to use. bang, simple, done. This new interface resets iteself every time you undock, leaving you repeating the whole process.

The UI changes need to be rolled back since it's simply irritating the user rather than becoming an interface to the user.

Please +1 this & maybe we can have some functionality back.

Thank you.

Currently, the same sorting view option is forced on ship and item hangars, and this is not acceptable. I want my ship hangar in icons, and my item hangars as list view. Thank you.

+1 Not even sure why it was changed in the first place. CCP fixed a problem with a broken solution which was never a problem to begin with.

It now requires more clicks to do the same thing. Seems like a step backwards.

+1 for UI justice! I gave up trying to do things "the old way" and found the new UI just as irritating when used natively. All sorts of fiddling with the hierarchical index (scrolling and collapsing) as I try to navigate around all my junk.

Would CCP please put up a follow-up dev blog illustrating why this new UI is a better thing and adds value to the EVE Online service?

The fewer steps that need to be taken to complete an action the better. Why not concentrate on the stuff that is already broken rather than take a perfectly working feature and break it?

The entire industry and invention system needs an overhaul and be made easier.

Simple is better, +1 for bringing back the old system please. Fueling POS, emptying silos, and simply looking for assets is becoming quite irritating with the new system.
