Unplayable.

I cannot tell which ship I am in from the ship menu. If I press make active on one rifter, it jumps into one and if I click the exact same rifter again and make active, I am magically in a different one, that occupied the same tile on the ship menu.

Revert back to old. Nobody wants this crappy UI.

I'm not sure that what they are trying to do is......do-able with the purposes to which we use these Windows.

There is a HUGE difference in Cargo Windows and Ship Windows and Corp Hanger Windows.

But they ALL worked under the same, simple, maleable, dynamic mechanic. A PLAIN BOX.

This adds COMPLEXITY in the form of Trees and Dropdowns and unintuitive shift+clicks.

Even then we lose a good 1/4 inch of real estate with the value Bar at the bottom. THAT should be defeatable, as it is not really needed, and is not going to be accurate anyway for one's own current Region for sales. USELESS Feature if there ever was one.

(I don't want to hear about the 1/4 inch...............as the defenders of the dropped Overview Stargate parenthesis screamed about wanting their 5 microns of extra space).

But then I was typing this same stuff on my main the past month on the Test Forums and to no effect so why am I bothering now. I really have no idea. Just typing for typing's sake while half in shock that this made in to TQ unchanged from day 1.

My post has nothing to do with the stupid inventory directory panel that can be hidden. I'm going to wait before complaining about that one.

Here's the what and the why regarding the new being broken, as I see it.

First, the Settings options for these do not function at all.

http://i.imgur.com/61VQM.png

As an example...

http://i.imgur.com/3PjFh.jpg

I have my cargo open constantly. With every ship, everywhere, I always have my cargo open at the bottom right. Yesterday, all I'd have to do is click the button to open a wreck and my ship would fly over and open the wreck. The wreck would appear in the PINNED location it's always been in. Now, it overwrites my Cargo window unless I hold the shift key.

As a side note, if I hold shift while clicking the open-wreck button and then let go and my ship needs to approach before the loot window opens, my cargo window is STILL overwritten even though I used the shift key. This means I'll have to approach and THEN hold shift and THEN click the ****ing button to open the wreck.

Moving on, if I open anything -literally anything- without holding the shift key, the new container gets merged with my cargo window and I can't stop that from happening without holding the shift button every god**** ****ing time.

I cannot politely convey how frustratingly irritating this is.

Please fix it. For the love of god, PLEASE fix this...

Sounds to me like you ARE describing the Inventory Window. It IS yourCargohold too now. It is indeed confusing.

You aren't paying attention. I specifically stated that I'm not complaining about or referring to the directory pane. Not sure if stupid or just trolling.

Maybe in a few days. Lets see what happens first.

But I'll be there if that is planned. Can't do anything real that I normally do ingame without it being a real hassle right now anyways. So illegal, naughty pew-pew sounds fun.

Because you are describing the same things we are describing and we are describing the Inventory window.

Can someone explain this better than I ??

i love the new inventory system, but I don't understand why the buttons would be removed that would basically be hotlinks to the proper page in your unified inventory.

Too many people are blowing this out of proportion, though. It's not hard to get used to, and its actually much more useful than 10 ******* windows open trying to remember what is what.

Can't wait to dual box my Dust toon and EVE toon on the same machine!

I've said it for a while - mashing all inventory containers into a single window is a bad design choice.

There's a distinct difference between a location that is "stuff in my current ship" vs "stuff in my station hangar" vs "stuff that the corporation owns" vs "stuff in a can floating in space".

Mashing all of those different location types into a single window blurs the line between "what is mine and what is not mine". It will be confusing as hell to new players.

CCP had the right idea with the top level trees in the UI. They just need to break those top level trees out to separate windows by default and give us the *option* to add trees from other locations into a particular window. At a minimum this means there should be separate parent windows for:

- current ship
- personal hangar stuff
- personal ships stuff (with the option to merge this with the personal hangar stuff window)
- corporation hangar
- permanently anchored containers (POS labs/arrays/silos, jump bridges, secure containers, customs offices)
- temporary containers (jetcans)
- corp/ship hangars of other ships in the fleet

The current ship's cargo/inventory window should always be separate and remember its place by *ship type*. When you fly a freighter, you have different access needs to your cargo hold then you do when flying an orca, or a carrier, or a tackle frigate, or a cap-boosting battleship.

Permanently anchored containers should not show up in the "permanent anchored container" window until they are right-click and "opened". There's no need, when at a POS to see every single last container at the POS tower.

I just cancelled by automatically renewing subscription for all three of my accounts. Love the game, but with the new inventory system anything I do is way too frustrating. I'm paid up until the beginning of July, if this isn't changed by then, I'll be gone. The game just isn't working for me as is....

+3 Form main and two alts you have my vote! I dont know why CCP do this, maybe they love to troll us ? no idea ... same like they romove ship view in station long time ago, and after our rage they give us back ability to ship spining and ship view while docked in staton...

Hard times for games we really have to scream about our needs... In these days Devs are egoistic-selfish, and i dont talk only about EvE, this happens to meny other games, somtime Devs know what is better for own customers and they dont care about player personal needs.

CCP don't break things that already works proper, new UI it self looks good but some thigs are annoying, lack of normal functions that make us happy.

Mining into an orca is now a pain in the ass.

I managed to shift+click and get the windows open, I even managed to drag the ore hangar over the cargo hangar and make tabs like the old system... then I docked and undocked and everything reset.

So basically, the way this system is now, I have to shift+click, drag+drop and resize windows every single time.

Sure I could open one giant window for my corp hangar, and then drag into the Ore Hangar in the tree view, but HOW am I supposed to know if the ore hangar is full / getting close to full without opening a new window?

This new window is so frustrating, I ended up just closing the game, I'll try again later.
