How the h*ll can this be confusing?!? And furhermore, with some practise this is a really fast and efficient system.

I too hate the new inventory, I also agree that its not that hard to ctrl+ click to open an individual window, especially if you've pinned those windows they'll open in the same spot. My ***** is why in the hell would they make this new system & not even give the option to lock like the "items &"ships" window so they're already open when you dock up? VERY annoying!

The ranger guy above you seems serious about how easy and intuitive it is now compared with old feature and related "bugs"

By the way, what was really wrong with old feature? -how wait win 1.1 window like Shocked

welp they could just change feature skins to new one and keep old feature usability, at least make it optional.

We had the "DOOR" now the "WINDOW" next expansion what it will be? - the "SOFA" or the "CHIMNEY" ?

As a special little snowflake i can't really say that it's that hard (20 min to load your missiles, really?) to get around with the new inventory system, but it really has its flaws.

I can cope with the stuff in station, but right now, the whole window pops up for me every single time i warp to a new system and salvaging has become a real mess.

If I was CCP I would look at the overwhelming negitive feed back in nearly every thread to do with the new UI, including test and think, oh maybe we did get it wrong.

The new inventory has its positive aspects, but a fair degree of functionality has been lost in the shuffle.

More clicks to do the same job as could have been done with less clicks before the change means loss of functionality.

This is like a re-run of the Hangar view controversy last year. Some people thought it was just about "ship spinning" per se, whereas of course it wasn't, it was about a) practical loss of functionality, and b) psychological loss of a sense of "home". The first is more immediately important, but the latter is potential death to an MMORPG that depends on subscriptions, that depend on people finding a sense of "home" in the game. It seems CCP didn't quite learn the lesson then. Hopefully they will this time. It's not as big a disaster overall (it's in the context of an update that has some very nice features), but it does need sorting PDQ.

As usual, Tippia has nailed it. I'm not as much of a power-user as she is, but I'm feeling the loss of functionality to my own degree.

After messing with it for a bit, I can see what they had in mind. For some use cases, it is better. They, however, didn't think it through for other cases. POS and salvaging? - Very irritating (Being kind here).

In my opinion, their efforts would have been better utilized on the Assets dialog.

The missile stuff, even though they threw the laws of physics out the proverbial window, is pretty sweet.

im sorry ccp , i know you put alot of hard work into the new inventory system, and you did not even come close to making it easier . In fact you guys make it much much more of a pain in the butt to move stuff around , one of the simplest things you can do in eve now has become a major pain in the butt.

I do not see how you can think this makes life easier in eve .
took me 20 minutes to figure out how to load some missiles into my cargo bay when it took all of a 2 seconds to do it before hand .

To make it simple you turned the inventory system into a nightmare of confusion .

Im a seasoned eve player , been in eve a long time , and i was bout to say F this game because of this , i can only imagine what a new player will think about the new inventory system

So because you are slow, we all should be slow with old system?

The OP's grammar "sucketh" far worse than the new inventory system. The new UI has made it a lot easier for me to actually find my stuff instead of having to scroll through endless lines of items or try to type in some module name that I just can't quite recall. It's also made mining a lot more streamlined, although I will have to get used to the Loot All button's slightly reconfigured position. Honestly, congrats are in order to CCP.

Now, pulled from CCP's secret files, is the recipe they used to create the new inventory. "Take three cups of awesomesauce and a dash of pwnspice. Mix it all together thoroughly through coding magic, then refrigerate for several days to cool the heat of haters. Finally, serve for a full helping of pure win."

20 minutes. It only took me 20 seconds. You and my household plant are in a close race to see who can find light the fastest.

Also, obligatory Shift click to open new window.

thats about 15 seconds longer than it used to take, im all for improvments to eve, no doubt.

making something take longer and have to "shift click" which im fking sick of hearing TBH (its an excuse)
is not improving something (which lets face it didnt need improving)

has anyone in the last 9 years decided its too hard to move some stuff from items to a ships cargo drone bay etc?

No Me either
fix bugs etc leave other things alone

how is the Captains quarters doing these days? I only see mine when the option somehow magically turns itself back on

Posting in another inventory thread to say I love the new inventory, it's is so easy to use and has deffinitely cut down the amount of annoying windows everywhere in my station.

Seriously if you are having a hard time figuring it out then maybe you should play some solitair or something, you know learn to drag and drop in a single window.

Maybe you should learn to manage your desktop its only messy if you make it that way. We can manage it fine, we just don't want to. its more clicky and less intuitive.

im not playing on a 15" screen so its not an issue to me or many others. alot of people use dual screens etc so they can layout things how they choose (sandbox anyone?)

put it back CCP for the love of ...well whoever

Currently, the same sorting view option is forced on ship and item hangars, and this is not acceptable. I want my ship hangar in icons, and my item hangars as list view. Thank you.

Actually it doesn't solve any problem. Ugh

It might as well not be there, because the new windows don't "remember" anything, they're independent new instances.

For your average combat player, perhaps it's no big deal.

But if you are a power user (which a fair proportion of EVE players no doubt are - more particularly, those who do a lot of economic PvP), accustomed to cross-comparing at a glance multiple windows/tabs that remember what they're doing, and used to a fast workflow, this system is a pretty big loss of UI functionality and utility (for a comparatively minimal gain), as you have to set them up every time you get back into the station. But even then, there are still other problems.

It's not the end of the world, the problems should be solveable (I hope to God they are), but there are problems, and they need solving ASAP.

This new 'feature is a real pain. Spend 5 minutes everytime I log on reopening ships, inventory and cargo windows and placing them where I like them. Pinning doesn't work since it only remembers one position, e.g. not mutiple windows.

In my opinion the worst Ui feature introduced in 7 years. Just wish there was an option to use the old system.

Really annoying.

humm it takes a little getting use to but i like it, the drop down list of ship cargo hanger items etc is a bit of a mess which is the only thing that needs improve imo, they should use bigger icons or something to make it more clear so dragging and drop stuff from ship cargo to hanger is easier.
