So yea, since todays patch, about a third of my mouse clicks (either with a mouse, or trackpad) are actually being recognized by the EVE client. It also gets stuck like I have the mouse button held down when I do not the rest of the time. This is happening with any mouse I plug in, and only with the EVE client. Game pretty much unplayable!

Edit: this is happening every few times I load eve. Not all the time, but when it happens restarting does not work. So it's pretty random and I can't pin it down right now.

I'm also getting this weird behavior. Playing on a MacBook Pro with the trackpad.

Hi everyone, we are looking into this issue. To help us narrow down the cause it would be really helpful if everyone playing on a an MBP could post some additional data, both those that are having this issue and those that are not. Things like which model you have and which OS version you are running. You can get this data by clicking 'About This Mac' noting the OS version in the window that pops up and the 'Model Identifier' from the window that opens when you hit 'More Info...' this data can really help up track down what might be causing this problem.

I've also reported this as a bug using the in-game bugreport tool. As it stands, the game is pretty unusable since mouse presses, releases, and scrolling are very flaky.

EDIT: Here's the text from my bugreport:

After logging into Inferno, using the EVE client has become very difficult. It appears as if mouse events are randomly dropped/ignored/not handled. I play on a MacBook Pro laptop, and use the built-in Trackpad and keyboard.
When trying to click a tab/button/window, nothing happens, I click again, sometimes it works, sometimes not. If I press and hold long enough, it seems to see clicks more often (but not always). Releasing the mouse is just as flaky. While trying to position the text cursor in a text editor (like when editing this bug report), it appears EVE thinks the button is still pressed after I´ve released the mouse, and newly input characters immediatly become selected (and since they are selected, each character i input replaces the previous).

UPDATE: Connecting an external USB mouse does not change anything. The behavior with the mouse and the internal trackpad is the same.

UPDATE: 2-finger scrolling with the trackpad is also very flaky.

UPDATE: Restting window positions (while investigating suggestions for my other bug reports) seems to have fixed this problem for me. The client is much more responsive and behavior feels correct now.

UPDATE: While resetting window positions helped a bit, after using the client for a few minutes, the problem still persists, and seems to progressively get worse.

This bug suddenly popped up for me last night. It seemed to manifest itself as the mouse button release events being not seen. That is after a mouse click the game behaves as though the mouse button is being held down. Repeatedly clicking the mouse at any location you want to click, and testing to see if the mouse is in fact released, is a very very annoying workaround. But I did manage to get through Blockade L4 that way.

Re-logging made everything work again, and the bug has not reoccurred.

Same issue, restarting the machine/client will sometimes solve the issue but it usually takes multiple attempts. Once it's working, it works, and the behavior will not manifest until a future restart.

Behavior noted when operating the client both with the built-in trackpad and with a Microsoft Comfort Mouse 4500 connected via USB. Have not yet attempted with a Bluetooth mouse. Behavior is not manifesting in the launcher.

It is not just a MacBook Pro problem. I have the same problem on my Hackintosh. No problems before the update. I am using a Microsoft Explorer wireless mouse.
