How can I turn off the new cumbersome inventory "system" and go back to the old system?

Ok I understand you are needing to do something to make it look like you are trying to improve things.. but this is not an improvement.

For people who have to move a lot of items around.. its a nightmare. It's slower... it makes moving things from your cargo to item hanger a mess.. double clicking on the background no longer brings up the cargo bay (something we fought for with the "door/ship spinning" thing) What, you thought it was really only about "ship spinning"?

I need to be able to maintain separate windows for dragging and dropping... without them closing back into the microsoft monster system window whenever I leave the station.

so.. new inventory system .. I don't like it. at all. The old way was not that big a problem. This one change will be harder on mining than hulkageddon 5.

no you actually don't - it takes longer to set up and it's not permanant; the window reconsolidates when you leave station.. and there is no single button to reopen them.. this is time consuming. it might have been ok if the cargo bay was not part of this monster.. but it resets into the system and there is no easy way to reopen it. ..and even the orca corp hanger tabs are gone.. replaced by the added column that now has to be left opened and wider/taller to accommodate the change... The old way was better.

The cumbersome nature of walking in station is what most people objected to when that came out.. this is just more of the same.

To be honest the new inventory system is a huge step backward!
Its slow, clumpsy and bot ergonomical.
It might look better but one can't work with it.

The old one was much more effective and user friendly!

Shift click to open new window.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

this is not the answer to making it not cumbersome. this is added steps and still is a bad move for people moving a lot of inventory frequently. plus window responsiveness has taken a huge hit.

This!

CCP: If you insist on maintaining the 'improved' inventory management system, please add an opt-out button for this nonsense. You can put it right next to the opt-out button for Captain's Quarters. I promise I'll opt out the moment I'm given the option.

Yes, it is that bad! It is right up there with Captain's Quarters. Opting out should have the same high visibility and ease of access . The fail factor is of the same order of magnitude. Roll

I agree that it's more of a hassle now than it was before. When I dock again I don't want to click 10 times to find what I'm looking for. With shift click you can rearrange all the windows just as they were but like Babs said: It's not permanent!

Also there's too much text bars around the window, the bars are too wide and that's just annoying when you just want to see what's inside of it.

I like the feature with the estimated price though. No matter if it's entirely correct or not I finally have an indication of what my inventory is worth :P (on the other hand it's 2 lines too many on the bottom of the window :S)

Let's hope they do some iteration on this soon, it could use some improvement.

Edit: I'd like to see my active ship back in the hangar as well!
Edit #2: I don't like my cargo inventory to pop up every time I undock or jump!

It looks very nice and all, but it really has to go. Ship maint arrays seem to be reloading their contents each time the window is reopened now, I can't tell you how annoying that is....

I've also lost all my custom ship hanger window positions, which was a big deal to me. In addition, it seems impossible to have more then one window open. Though I'm sure there is some extremely easy method to pop open more windows, CCP did not hold my hand and explain this to me (Which they need to, I just so happen to be a flaming idiot)

The pretty explosions and quelling my rage at the moment, but that wont last for long..... Diablo 3 has some mighty fine explosions... mmmmhmmmmm, yesir, sure does.

This 'new' inventory/cans dialog boxes are NO improvment at all, more of a gay azz win7 style wanna-be. Now when u loot a wreck, that box is the same as this 'new' inventory box. so moving things back and forth will not be an option or be very difficult. And when u loot the wreck, that box will dissappear, but whats left is ur cargohold, and a few extra clks to close THAT.
The more of these so-called 'upgrades' that keep coming,... the more likely I will not want to play eVe any longer. I have yet to see anything that shoiuld be called an 'upgrade', and whoever the idiot is that is coming up with these lousy ideas, needs to be podded. U wanna upgrade something, then upgrade the fact the when I bump into a rock, in the VOID of space, that rock should move, not my ship becoming intangled on it by some invisible ccp web of sh!t.....
I have not seen ALL of the DOWNGRADES u have made in this 'upgrade', but I'm sure they will show up at the exact time I don't need them to.
And no more fagg0t azz win7 styles, its a bad idea....

no, this is just a buggy UI, that should be holding it's position when you dock and such. But it doesn't because it is broken, it is still however a much better item window, if that one issue was fixed.

yes, besides being slow.. it adds a lot of nice features to inventory I don't need like searches... I have "assets" for those features this change was unnecessary. as a side note, I turn off this consolidated windows feature in MS Windows as it makes my work slower.

New inventory is fine. Instead of 800 windows, its one window with tabs. OH GOD, THE HORROR.
