At least this isn't a game breaking bug, but engine glow intensity seems to have been dimmed a lot. This means for most of my ships instead of a nice solid glow I can now see the much darker engine nozzle edges poking through the exhaust flames. IMO this makes the backsides of ships look hideous.

Also how come active ships are no longer shown in the hangar? There's streamlining, and then there's outright hiding information from the interface.

Agree. Even grouping by type would suffice.

Finally, I've noticed that after jumping, there is a much longer delay in the time between clicking to warp to a new location and being able to activate any modules. Used to be I could click warp, and just before the "Warp Drive Active" I could activate. Now that delay is significantly longer.

I think that might be a good short term solution. Being able to rename structures and searching for them might be even better long term, but we'll talk options tomorrow morning and see what we can do.

Let me fix all three.

I'll respond by acknowledging that this is an issue and are actively working on a fix.

Yes POS's are a nightmare, but honestly they really need to be reworked. And reworking POS's should have been way higher in priority than the inventory system.

But I do like many of the new features in the new inventory system. Heading in the right direction with a few fixes and changes.

Currently every time I jump a gate the inventory window reaserts itself even though I've closed it.

Edit: Strange as it may seem the inventory box not reasert itself when jumping into a system with an Incursion active in it

It's an entirely different workload that wouldn't be handled by the same people. POSs are currently on our plan, scheduled to start work at the end of the year when the designated team finishes what they're doing now.

always seems to me like whenever a new patch is released, inventory windows and other windows like to put themselves whereever they want whenever they want to pop up lol... though they have always fixed it in the passed im sure they can do it again... rest easy =P

1: We're really trying to thin down the right click menu, so I'd prefer not having them back. One thing we could look into is shortcuts to different sections of the unified inventory? So you'd still open the unified inventory, but just on the exact tab you want.

2: Definately dealing with this. Not sure what the solution is but needs to be dealt with.

3: Fixed in tomorrows patch over downtime.

4: This doesn't have much to do with the unified inventory, but yes, I completely agree.

why do we need a trimmed down right click menu btw?

A right click menu with 15 options is about the worst functionality in the world.

Not being able to have multiple windows if you want them is about the worst functionality in the world. Can't believe you guys ignored the feedback in the test thread.

Tal

You can have multiple windows. Shift click an inventory and they get separated.

I don't know how you think we play the game.
But that doesn't work very well for general flying.

For capitals, this UI change is pretty much a game breaker.
I generates helluva lot more clicking, looking and guessing.

Cargo Hold, Fuel Bay, Corporate Hangar and Ship Maintenance Bay
We use these things, maybe not all of them on every op. But most of them.

In short, this new UI change to our item management is NOT saving us any clickes.
It's not well designed and the layout is pretty terrible.

At least give us the option of having Classic Windows.

Well i hate to say it but considering the crazyness the UI system has taken now due to the state of the pos world, some patching may be needed anyway at this point, atleast the renaming of the structures, and the UI grouping similar structures into a CLOSED tree, i dont need to see my guns everytime i land on a pos to refuel it lol

OK, the UI-UI is finally on TQ, here are my concerns so far:

- The ship button disappeared, therefore the mosaic list of ships can't be found anymore, instead we have a tree with a difficult to read long text list (specially on large screens). I liked to have at a glimpse the looks of all my ships, now I feel like I'm searching them in the market. :/

- When looking for the ship button, I tried to reset the neocom in case of, and the items button vanished also ??? I cannot find it in the popup 'E' menu.
( * edit: it has been moved on top and renamed "inventory", nevermind * )

- The drones options in contextual menu has disappeared. Moreover, when no drones are present, the entry is sometimes not available in the inventory window, which forces you to use the fitting pannel to open the drones bay. I've closed and re-opened the inventory and the problem disappears. Maybe an init issue.

=> If you wanted to make ship contextual menus lighter, you should have removed CQ and Undock options instead, these are not related to the ship, rather to the current game state IMHO. It is longer to open the inventory and look for the ship than just right-clicking on the spinning view and select an option.

- When transferring objects between ships or the hangar, as expected it is very annoying if you try to use a single window: I just tried to transfer some ammo and had to try it twice because I was lost between 2 ships of same type and was unsure where I put them. So you finally have to either check all ships, or frenzy shift-click these and hope that you won't close them by accident (like I often do since the new Neocom system).

Not-UI related remarks:

- There's not only the login proxy's which is at heavy load, seems like the local and the chans are out of sync for some players of my corp.

In addition to the massive pile of plexing problems I reported in my earlier post, confirming that we are seeing wartargets dock in 24th IC stations in systems the Minmatar militia owns as well, so that's not limited to the cal/gal warzone. Neutral stations are however still off limits.

Can a dev please confirm that this is a bug and NOT working as intended? Because that would really make those of us who busted our asses for the last two months working on the assumption of a complete station lockout feel better.

Issue - Before inferno I could type something in filter field in hangar (I am living in WH) and I was able to check every hangar's devision in order to find what I need. Now I need to type the name of item in the filter field every time I change the division. That is disaster!!!
New UI looks cool but is not workable. Shame.

Repeating this for importance.

Dude its 1 window, i mean honestly if u're in the cap and wanna see fuel, and your corp hanger open them side by side...

wanna refuel, drag fuel from corp hanger to either the new fuel window you opened iwth shift+click or just drag it to the fuel tree menu and drop it, or if you want to see it dropping hold for a second over fuel, and THEN youll see the fuel bay.

They already said the fix for the remembering window position is in the works to come out soon...

There's nothing wrong with having a right-click menu with 15 options, provided they're all relevant to the context of the right-click and sorted into a suitably logical/intuitive order. Right-click -> do something is actually pretty efficient as an alternative to click object -> click button.

There's also nothing wrong with providing alternative routes to get to the same endpoint (which some of the missing right-click options were).

More options (for how to do something) is generally better than fewer options or just a single option.

Edit: If I right-click a file or folder in my Windows Explorer I get exactly 15 options in the menu. They're clearly and logically laid out in groups with breaks/space in-between so are all clearly visible and easily accessible. I'd say that menu is pretty good in terms of functionality as all the options are relevant to the object I right-clicked and provide quicker access to the individual functions than would otherwise be possible.

Another advantage of right-click -> do something is that the two clicks are relatively close together on the screen, so you don't have to move your mouse much in between them, even with 15 items in the menu.
