Having access to the drone bay of your active ship without having to open the fitting window is the best thing since sliced bread and hot water.

The unified inventory thing is freaking faptastic!

Ok, well, at least that gives some kind of alternative perspective that might explain why some see the new inventory as an improvement for them. It's still far less efficient than the way I used to do it, but I suppose it's faster than going through a completely different bloaty window.

Ever sat in a ship like a carrier with a gazillion specialized bays? The right click menu hast like 1000 entries is not really fun to work with that. Everything that reduces the numbers of entries in a right click menu or let's me do stuff without it is a win in my book.

You mean “three” (hangar, fuel, ship bay)? Kind of like an Orca (hangar, ore, ship bay). If your rclick menu is building up, chances are that you (and your corp) need to do a bit of house cleaning in their bookmarks, and with a bit of forethought, you rarely had to touch that rclick menu to begin with to get to the bays.
