So my friends and I have been trying to bomb people with mix success. When it goes well, it goes really well. When it goes wrong, fubar is not the word.

Does anyone know of any good guides for group work?

Practice is the key. The only real suggestion I have to offer is to be alighted toward a celestial when releasing the bomb so you can instawarp out. If you do this unless they have dictor bubble on you or somehow tackled you in a second that took to decloack and release the bomb you will always getaway. This means putting your target between you and your warp out point. And of course bomb travel exactly 30km before detonating, but I'm sure you knew that already.

When we die, it's because someone tends to decloak the others.

We've tried warping in from different directions to the same spot, but it still seems to happen.

Aside from that bombers are way fun.

Most every bomber pilot has messed-up and been killed, especially during the early phases of their learning curve. You will also, probably, bomb yourself at some point and even (as I have) get on your own killmail. Don’t despair, there are a number of forum threads, blogs, and guides concerning stealth bomber antics. Do some eve-gate searching and out-of-game google searching and you will find a bundle of info – perhaps https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=80397 is a fair starting point.

I’m finding bombers a lot of fun and a great way for this carebear to get some PvP exposure.

One of the best resources, IMO, is the Bombers Bar. For a start I suggest joining the chat group of that name, and then trying to linkup with their (almost daily) ops (if it runs a covops cloak it's ok to use ... altho most ppl run stealth bombers or recons). The bulk of that gang are US TZ folk and so bombing gangs get together usually at around 01:00 eve-time. That’s a pain for me, but I still try to join the gang on most weekends. Your corp / alliance doesn’t matter … the bombers bar gang is a great learning environment, a good place to rack up a few kills, and does not care where you ‘belong’ in eve (ya, even been flying alongside skunkworks members).
The gang operates in nullsec and engages in all forms of bomber tactics, including massed bomb runs, gang point-and-torp attacks, covert cyno hot-drops etc. The current AoO is near Taisy, and recently was near Torrinos.

The main guys behind the Bombers Bar are involved with Vengance Inc. [VENGA] and further useful info can be found on their KB / website at http://www.griefedgaming.com/

I suggest reading all the stuff you can find, getting yourselves into the Bombers Bar chat channel, and coming over to near-Taisy to join in on some ops.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

I could not have said it better myself. I was introduced into bombers bar and since Ive been able to learn so much. If you are looking for a safe haven where you can learn some bombing tactics, hang out, and meet all kinds of good guys, the Bombers Bar is the place to be for you. We do our best to work as a team which is vital to any OP. but most importantly we try to put the fun back in eve. I suggest you bring your team out with the Bombers Bar for at least a week. you will have no choice but to pick up some very good habits. I can honestly say after flying with these guys I feel I have found a niche in PVP that can only foster more advanced styles of game play in the future. Ultimately the choice is yours. we ask you to leave the politics at the door, bring some Jokes, Smokes, and Beer. Ego and porn links will be provided free of charge along with bombs. See you on the grid!

Thanks for the great links. I´ll make sure to contact Bombers Bar once I get all my SB skills up and running, seems to be a great gang to hang around with and drop some bombsBlink

http://www.agony-unleashed.com/wiki/index.php?title=Stealth_Bomber_Tactics - some decent tips there. Never tried them, so can't vouch for them, but they make sense to me.

As people have said, learning is the key here I think. I have just started bombing and so far I have lost 4 manticores and only killed 3 noob ships that were trying to cyno.

What I do is have 5 or 6 manti's waiting for me in my staging post, so if I die then I just jump into a new one and try again. It's all part of the learning curve, and even though I

Theres also the added fact that they have made it so SB's dont decloak one another I do believe. I dont know if this only applies to stealth bombers or all ships cloaked dont decloak on other cloaked ships.

Cloaked ships do not uncloak one another now when they're within 2km. Once one uncloaks tho a whole fleet can be magically uncloaked ... making that one very unpopular if that was not the plan.
