1) When I started to play 2 yrs ago, server Never peaked below 50k, usually was at 55 k , on weekends.

On January 23, 2011, Eve Online claimed a new record for the maximum number of simultaneous pilots online with 63,170 concurrent accounts logged on to the same server.
…and then Incarna happened and the new numbers become quite commonplace. Also, before that, it was fairly common for TQ to peak blow 50k. Again, last time we saw a AAA game launch, we saw the same numbers.

…users who are disgruntled by the initial server problems caused by the influx of players, showing quite neatly why numbers are down in other games. And again, user scores or not, it's still a long-awaited AAA release and as history has shown this means the numbers go down — 42k for three weeks in a row last autumn when the winter releases came, for instance.

…so quite a lot of college students, then, who'll be doing their finals (and quite a few grown-ups who'll be trying to get the last batch done before summer vacation when they can start playing some EVE in earnest).

You can try to ignore the standard patters as much as you like, but the fact remains that nothing is really all that out of the ordinary.

That sure says a lot about the intellect, critical thinking capabilities, and overall erudition of the adults nowadays, does it not? Because most of the tantrums, complaining, real-life threats, and language use I've observed throughout my years of playing this game make me question why we're not corralling these supposed "adults" into work camps and/or harvesting their organs for the good of the people who actually contribute more to society than working McJobs and driving SUVs.

I once had a guy who, after losing some ships, kept bugging me to tell him where I lived so that he could drive over and blow off my balls with a shotgun so that I wouldn't be able to breed anymore. Dude was like 45 and was married with kids.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

I don't mine in high sec, was just speaking out for those who do, lost expensive ships, asked themselves

"Whats the point, I'm not gonna spend real money to replace my ships cos of gankers and so that I can make a couple of million isk in Hisec mining using a hulk thats tanked but has pathetic yield , Im moving on "

I just understand that not all have lots of money to spend on internet spaceships that get griefed, and they'll just move on, the server graph reflects this, and its not because every man and his dog is playing Diablo, a woeful 4/10 game.

Or they could think for a few minutes about how to protect their mining ships and not lose them easily. Like how I did after losing a couple covetors in under an hour in the beginning of the month. After that I've not lost a single ship and with casual mining been able to get a few million m3 ore. And I didn't even have to put any extra tank on the covetor.

If I can do it so can anyone else. Not saying there's no risk but there should be some risk in everything you do in Eve. Otherwise why are you playing it?

Don't you get it man? They're simply trying to unwind from a hard day of white-collar hand-shaking by mining some space rocks in a fancy "digital simulation." They're entitled to safety. This behavior is entirely similar to their penchant for taking guided bus tour vacations through third-world South-American countries to observe the "noble savages" in their "natural habitats" on the assumption that they're entitled to protection by the tour guide and his trusty .38, which usually only has one bullet in it to begin with. Then after they get bailed out via ransom negotiations or spec-ops extraction, they complain about military food on their way back to their suburban villas, all the while thinking about how "quaint" the experience was.

These are the people who can't even comprehend the simple fact that just a few miles from their homes, people die to gang violence on a daily basis, and whose familiarity with violence extends only to domestic abuse toward their wives and children.

Suicide ganking is intended gameplay. It's not a gray area or something that CCP just haven't gotten around to "fixing" yet. They have repeatedly and explicitly confirmed that it's expected and supported.

There is no part of the game where you can operate with the expectation of not risking loss. None. You don't get to be invulnerable because you're a miner, or any other profession, and you never will.

Come back when you have understood and accepted this fundamental aspect of EVE. We'll be glad to see you.

Be seeing you. It's all part of the game we call EVE, so I wish you look in your next game being wrapped in cotton wool.

A company that makes drastic changes based on the bitching and whining of the in-game players, disregarding newcomers and their experience, is destined to fail eventually.

The lack of thought has been superseded by their zealot like ambitions.

However, Those of us who are experienced players. Know all to well (especially us nullsec dwellers).
Local is your most important tool.

If you live in highsec, and you constantly see neuts near you, it's almost expected they are somewhat friendly, so you become lazy, and disregard potential ganks.

When you live in low/null sec, YOU PAY ATTENTION TO THE LOCAL. And you are aware of people in your system, and you either jump in a PVP ship or you station camp like carebear.

BOTTOM LINE

Ganking is a part of the game.

I can't wait till the idiots in this thread have their subscriptions run out, so we don't have to listen to them whining about how their subscription is going to run out.

The only real issue is that they're a bunch of NPC corp posters. Surely if you guys are unsubbing you wouldn't mind posting on your mains? Or are you scared we'll war dec your inactive accounts?

The reality is, you're a bunch of whining liars trying to cause a scene for whatever idiotic reasons. Foretelling doom and gloom in order to try and get game mechanics changed to suit you, but you won't post on real accounts because it would be embarrasing when we still see you online in a months time.

If you guys had genuinely stopped playing in significant numbers, there'd be a statistically significant dip in the login rates. There hasn't been. So either there are a few delusional individuals on here who think their demographic is more numerous than it really is, or you are outright lying.

Either way, you suck and you should stop making threads.

Thank you.

I'd like to once again remind all those who believe that hi-sec is more dangerous than 0.0 that there vast, untouched, virgin belts in virtually every nullsec system - many of which are more or less empty. And entirely free of suicide gankers.

If it's ore you want, find out how wormholes work (only chumps get caught by gatecamps!) and come and fill your boots.

PS You'll still need to tank your Hulks somewhat, because 0.0 belt rats are a bit more aggressive than hi-sec ones. But a properly set up Hulk team can easily manage them, and even farm the belt spawns for extra ISK/hr! (This can be quite good fun)

Diablo 3 is a terrible game, STOP PLAYING IT!

[i]Like title says, it's totally unplayable because of the lag, DC's and server failure. And when you actually manage to login it's one big grindfeast. The story is too boring and short and after that you're just mend to play it over and over again. There is no customization and the 5 classes is way to little to keep you busy.

isn't it what lots of people ask in Eve forums? less skills, less attributes, faster and easier game? Lol

On top of that the graphics are **** and the customer service is even shittier. If you don't believe me check the EU forum during the server failure today. No support at all and no communication about what was going to happen and it took them the whole day to get the servers back on. Don't buy this game and if you have already made the mistake of buying it, just leave it on the shelf, the box art is better then the game it self!
Now with that said, hopefully the servers will become a bit less crowded, so I'll be able to play :-P
