there i just saved the world.

Welcome to privately owned Olleybear Highschool. We offer competitive rates for our courses that give your child a best in class education.

As you follow me on our tour may I point out the School Store. We require a level of excellence for all of our school supplies that is unprecedented for its quality and endures all kinds of abuse from your child. We do require that you purchase all of your childs school supplies from us and we understand that our prices can be intimidating at first. However, considering it is yours child education which shapes their future success as they mature to adults, I think you can agree that it is truly a wise investment and the initial price shock will be quickly forgotten.

Now, onto the cafeteria. The Olley High cafeteria is like no other. Our dedication to your childs development doesnt simply stop at their mind and continues to the body. We believe a healthy mind and healthy body make for a healthy well rounded individual able to nagivate the stormy waters of life with skill and grace. To achieve this goal, our professionally trained dieticians have prepared culinary delights for you to sample so you can see firsthand how serious we are about our students health. Just like the school supplies, we do require that your child buy all of their food from our cafeteria. Many scientific studies show "You are what you eat" so to speak and endeavor to create a temple of bodily joy for the minds of our students.

Olleybear Highschool is a national chain and our success has enabled us to buy out every other school within 350 miles radius of where you live. As such, you really have no choice but to send your child to us anyway and buy our product at whatever price we deem necessary so our CEO can buy another Ivory backscratcher to add to his backscratcher collection. However, we understand you desire to see how we compete with other schoools and have provided a pamphlet showing the success of our students vs homeschooling by religous mothers. We here at Olley High are confident you will see the wisdom of enrolling your child vs the alternative.

Regards,

Olleybear - CEO and President

..and that's why I generally don't waste my time Station trading; because the difference between the current traders and the current traders plus one, (me), is that it drives the profit margins down to 0. They are very nearly at 0 already; it doesn't take much effort.

This doesn't apply to everything certainly, and isn't in effect everywhere, but in places where people trade this is generally the truth. I just don't find I have much time for searching through all the orders to see if I can find one worth trading.

Finding, carving out, and defending your slice of the pie has been the grunt work of trading for as long as I've been involved (2 years). Updating orders in your little niche actually isn't the real job, contrary to popular belief. 90% of beginner traders I've talked to have asked what they should trade, as if the actual trading was the hard part, when the real work is the finding, taking, and keeping.

Also, to those saying about low spreads, be glad you are playing a game where hardcoded mechanics grant you a spread at all, where even the lowest skill bot can make a little profit just by flipping from buy to sell orders and where the only minimum player skill involved is to train SP / standings into smaller broker fee.

If this was a real market:

1) Spreads would generally be 0.01 ISK, some times from 0.00 to 0.02 ISK, some times -0.01 ISK. This means you HAVE to learn to trade for real, i.e. predict where prices may go, not just slap some silly order and 0.01 ISK it.

2) Every time anybody buys a certain amount of value (in RL commodity markets that equals to *1* contract) you fully pay the broker fee on it.

Oh, and when you trade securities and are beaten by the market, you don't stay with some billions of overpriced stock but you are left with a margin call and lose everything.

Wondering how u gaiz feel? I can make more per hour of work potentially than a pimped out uncursion fleet pre nerf. Should they heavily tax station trading and redestribute the wealth?

Troll aside, please dear 'sir' explain how a station trading tax would be implemented.

we cant tell that it is not possible to may 1bil/day on a regular basis.

But as far as i see, u have to have a big capital and trade several hubs at the same time.

As for using 1 char and trading in a non major hub(rens/dodixie), i managed to make maximum margin of 154mil/ day and a minimum margin of 10,5 mil/day.
here is a spreadsheet.

P.S just have 45 orders and still not trader with lvl 5 skills.

Hey guys we did it! Station trading has been nerfed by increasing taxes in order to redistribute the wealth per here https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=111434

All I have to say is: Yes we can!
