Don't forget about school finals. Around now and in the middle of december a lot of schools go through finals and a lot of EVE players I know take 2 weeks off to study. They'll be back.

I would be surprised if Hulkageddon/BJ caused many people to quit, most people take the loss as a cost of doing business thing or get really mad then get over it in a few days. I figure more people ragequit after dying horribly in pvp than getting ganked in high sec.

If I were to summon up my friends by the amount of adds on Failbook I would actually have to completely revise what a friend is.

1. The sever usually doesn't peak over 40,000 on a normal weekend.
2. Diablo 3 will temporarily take some players away
3. Finals are approaching and therefore highschool and college students will not be playing as much
