I'm not sure why or how you come to the conclusion that the Ibis deserved a complete overhaul but the Velator did not. It is almost identical to the current one, minus the Gallente's trademark organic, mostly symmetric look and frankly just flat out looks worse. Please consider scrapping it and starting over. It is by far the ugliest ship in the game, and I still can't believe that it gets a redo that makes it worse.

I agree, way too sharp to be called Gallente.

Need stuff moved? Push Industries will handle it. Serving highsec, lowsec and nullsec - and we do it faster and more reliably than anyone else. Ingame channel: PUSHX

It's not that bad - actually something of an improvement, but yeah I'm not a fan of the layout. The design principles are sound though.

"Wow, that internet argument completely changed my fundamental belief system," said no one, ever.

The new Velator is a cross between the Catalyst and the Talos. It's leaning more towards art-deco rather than the organic, though still definitely Gallente in design and a great improvement on the old model.

The ugliest ship in EVE title will always belong to the Imicus. Nothing else can touch it.

Imicus and Velator are both pretty similar in design imo, both are hideous. The Velator may not be flat-out the worst ship but when thinking of contenders for the ugliest ship it is definitely one of the first ones that comes to mind. It's just baffling for the ship to be up for a redo and to have it almost unchanged.

Haters gonna hate I guess.

I think they all look like great remodelling efforts. It is impossible to make everyone happy. Im sure if they did it how you'd expected it, somebody else wouldn't like it. Moving on...

ccp....
why not add a tab with a list of all the ships and theyre model versions
by default the latest model ship

if someone dosant agree with the improvement they can pick one of the older versions

I understand your pain but the prize for the worst ship design in EVE goes to the Reaper.

Because those older versions would have to be maintained as the engine is iterated on, tying up resources that should really be used for other things.

in wat way ?

it cant be the geometrical data , they are similar to nowerdays models
it cant be the textures or shaders , converting it to nowerdays shaders can be done with 3 clicks on a button and a batch repeating it for every ship

it might be computer resources but thats extremely limited caus most is consumed by planetary surfaces , stations and other colosal objects

and it cant be interfearing with the *smoothness of running it or net trafic , caus its local , the only thing the eve server needs to send is wat ship it is and the client does an if statement between the models , a process that takes wat ? 0.00000001 sec

so wat kined of recources might this consume that its not even worth considering ?
