OP, not that its a bad ideal, however, it more closely resembles warp core stabs then ECM.

What amuses me is that these new mods are being put in the game to break up the cookie cutter builds that 99.9% of Eve runs for PvP, but they are almost all chance based and probably not worth the actual slot it takes.

Hey CCP here is a better idea: Work on ship/race balancing. There is a reason people call it Winmatar and almost everyone has a Tengu alt.

2 years ago they were called failmatar.... peopel overexagerates the changes on status quo. by a LOT! Minmatar are superior on cruiser sized ships while payign for that on larger ships. That is their trait. Ammar are opposite. Nothign wrong on that.

This new contraption sounds like a fancy smancy run of the mill ecm burst.

Thats what I was thinking but it must have greater range to have an effect on Blobs

Interesting, new module sounds in-effective to PL's Slow-Cat concept. 50 R/R Carriers with 10-12 sentries assigned to a single Proteus with a TP. 1 lock occurs via the Proteus, then sentries fire. I guess if alpha does not succeed, then maybe the module may break the sentries' locks, and maybe the assigned Proteus' lock.

Food for thought.

"Paying for that on larger ships" - what's wrong with the Maelstrom?

Ever hear of an Alphamael? I flew a couple different fits of a mael (ac vs arty) like last week? In that situation, my loss mail showed 39 people as part of a fleet operation, I might have chosen this mod over an extra shield extender. (I had no point fit -- 300ish folks on our side of a fight, with a good chunk being tacklers & such - I was damage & "expensive target" so went tank.)

This module - I don't know how it works yet. 1 = slim chance, 2 = higher ... 30 = very high chance. Also the "breaks your locks". Tons of questions on this.

Does drone targeting count? POS mods?

No weapon use to accomplish:
logi - "just target them and we can break their chain".
battleships? Potentially even worse - simply being targeted would drop your locks and reacquiring targets can take a while but *NOT* for the ones targeting you.

It can work but how is the effect tested for and applied? When anyone locks it checks? Is it stacked or simply more targeting "rolls the dice more"?

Does it hit everyone targeting you or just some of them? Do they lose all their targeting or just you? (ECM burst costs them all targets - what's this do?)

Lots of questions.

Reduces scan resolution significantly as a downside. Only one can be fitted at a time and the can not be fitted to capital ships.

Just what this game needs is more ECM, ty CCP you bunch of idiots. Please voice your opinions about how newer ecm type modules are stupid.

Arent stabs/Regular ecm cheap enough to get away :p

again with the ecm hating. It always seems to be people who are on the receiving end that hates it. People complain about it being too "annoying" and cry about not being able to engage one 1v1.
Well, here's the thing, don't engage one solo or in a very small group cause unless that ecm pilot is unlucky as hell in his/her jams, you're gonna get perma-jammed and they'll get away. (and if they're flying a ship with some ecm slapped on, they are REALLY rolling a die there) I mean, pick your targets, don't get all frazzled when you go for a rook and it jams you.

conventional ecm has its limitations, and when those limitations are met, boy is that ecm pilot in for a world of hurt.
This new ecm module seems to have the opposite con the conventional ones have. I see no problem in this, except maybe when fit on a expensive ship that you want to gtfo. Then again, it's one mid-slot and sub cap ships of that order usually need a midslot for something else.

take into consideration that it will break lock, useful for having on fleet fights

if you have it, jump to str into a gatecamp, 20people target you and jam you, you activate the magStealth
they drop lock, scram/disrupter cyckle does not break, and the frigs prolly gonna relock and scram you.

prolly a mod for fleet fights. just my 2cents

Definately for fleets. will be interesting.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

If there is one thing this game needs, it is less whining about ECM. My Falcon can miss all the cycles and die. My Griffins die regularly. When was the last time a silly TD didn't render my lovely Slicer 100% useless? When was the last time I escaped a warp scrambler, because it's chance based? When was the last time anyone escaped a HIC, because of luck?

Guys, you do know that there won't be any bpo seeded for this mod, right? This is going to be from explo drops. That means it will be expensive, no matter what and it will never be a common fleet fit for the grunts. Some expensive fleet ships like tengus might use it but thats as far as they'll go.

The major use will be in roaming small gangs or in expensive solo ships.

The Target Breaker BPC doesn't just drop in exploration sites. It drop in some missions too.

Why wouldn't you just pre-arrange who shoots which numerical target then one guy hits up targets 1-4, you lock you target and fire?

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.
