hi, thx for replying ... to the point => everyone is praising Tengu but nobody is mentioning Proteus What?
, so because i usually don't like what others like i go for Proteus (skill-wise i'm miles from Tengu pilot)

i know its expensive but is it worth isk/hour for lvl4 missions , or even better some DED sites ?

unfortunately it's not a good missioning ship. blasters have good dps, but rails are meh. using sentries on proteus is bad.
Black Eagle Drone Link Augmentor is just too expensive for it's bonus and if using sentries you would want to fit omni tracking link. Also you are using more calibration points that you have.

i sold my proteus long time ago. it's not a pve ship. for pve ishtar or domi is a better choice. for pvp i had to crosstrain to minnie.

Dude, that doesn't even fit at all.

You are 200 points over rig calibration, and you don't have the drone subsystem that would allow you to use those drones.

I'd try this for hisec stuff. Half the price of your version but a lot better tank, dps and utility. For sentries, Ishtar is way better, and the upcoming lowslot drone dmg module makes Ogres a viable choice. You can lose the EANM of DCU for the drone dmg module and still have plenty enough tank, this fit is probably overtanked. Use the remaining drone bay space for whatever, spares, (upcoming) webber drones or logi drones to rep your heavies between sites.

It really depends on your goals. No the Proteus is not the best for missions if you are looking for isk/hour. Although I have found the proteus to be better at blitzing missions than i thought it would be. I have used one sometimes when grinding up some Corp standings just because I was bored and wanted to fly something different.

There was this one fit I seen on battleclinic that looks really fun to fly. It is basically MWD + Blasters + Hammer II's. The only fit I would fly a Proteus on PVE. Feels like an oversized Enyo, with battleship damage.
It is worth mentioning that being fun =/= being effective. You can buy and fit 5 Ishtars, 1 for you plus 4 for your friends, and finish a L4 mission in 1/10 the time with the same ISK.
A shame because I have seen pretty decent missioning Lokis and Legions (I will not even mention the Tengu because...), but theres no way to fit a Proteus for it that doesn't feel like a huge waste of time or ISK.

Proteus can be good and fun for level 4 missions; it is at a disadvantage facing EXP and EM damage but is a great mission running facing Kin Therm NPC’s. It does need good skills, mission awareness and to be fit for each mission, do not omnitank.

I use this fit for LvL 4 Serpentis missions it is very competitive. Use Null for range you can hit out to 30km. I rarely use the cap booster. If you want more tank I strongly recommend replacing a mag stab not a tracking enhancer. Start of with more tank to be safe until you are happy.

This fit is for a sentry Proteus, the empty low slots are for Drone Damage Amplifiers, released tomorrow they boost the Proteus a lot as it has no problems with fitting, a similar Ishtar struggles to fit the same guns and have the same tank/cap. You can also fit blasters, micro-warpdrive, localized injector sub and use heavies.

Maybe those drone damage mods give the Proteus an PVE advantage over the Ishtar. I would really love to see that.
It would still not beat a Dominix with the same mods, wich can field 5 sentries is cheaper than both the Ishtar and the Proteus.
Anyway, I guess a usable PVE Proteus is better than no PVE Proteus.
