Others pay for this game too, and they can play as they please (within the sandbox boundaries set up by CCP)

The problem with sandboxes is that there's always a hidden turd in there somewhere, in Eve the turd happens to be the people who don't play the way you do.

You can do that if you find the right place and take the precautions, but, like lots of other things in the sandbox, you need to work for it.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

I guess the forums are a sandbox too, but probably the moderators will not allow you say really bad stuff here. But you can certainly say just about anything you want in null sec local, except real life threats.

EvE is similar to American rules football. The violence that is legal inside the game would not be permitted in public.

Please seek out and join EvE University - they tend to be welcoming to new players.

There is a semi-old saying: don't get mad; get even. This is the way of things in EvE.

(Are there more rage quit posts recently? I'm honestly curious...)

Also, definition of sandbox? When I was a child playing in the sandbox it had limitations and defined limits and when I build my sandcastle it was subject to getting destroyed at any time, in fact, some of us took pleasure in doing just that especially when we knew that at the end of the day, the weather would do it for us if we did not.

No, that is completely wrong, this person fails miserably at life, this is that annoying kid remember? The one that called on the teacher or adult to discipline you guys for ruining his sand castle even if it took up half of the sandbox, because he was a selfish greedy C.

OP, I'm a bit of an expert in psychoanalysis when it comes to things like this.

I can place you within the age range of 10 to 13 years old. I can also tell that you have recently played an MMO... maybe WoW or Runescape? You seem unfamiliar with the concept of BLAM PEW STRAIGHT TO THE MOON. Allow me to clarify:

You say you can do as you please on the forums? So too can people shoot as they please ingame. Maybe you should've tanked more.

Budlight

There are many phases that a player goes through in there EVE Career

1. open mouth amazement (first few weeks)
2. Angry whiny ****** (first suicide gank or wardec)
3. Journeyman (knows the score)
4. Journeyman advanced (Understands the core concepts of the game)
5. Angry whiny ******/Bitter Vet (More reasons than you can count)


These are the 5 phases that every eve player goes through
I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion.

This. CCP are those hippie parents that you hear about, raising children (players) that do pretty much whatever they want to do, because "they are expressing themselves". CCP would be hard pressed to do anything about their kids, even when the kids start burning the carpet and are mixing bleach with ammonia in the toilet. Quite literally, the house (Eve) could be on fire and CCP would pat itself on the back for raising it's children in such an open manner, allowing them freedom to do as they please, never realizing that the kids have no regard for each other, or the house that they live and play in. Because it's a sandbox, you get it?

Personally, it's their game, they can nurture it or kill it however they please. The snadbox part is cool and all, but at some point, they will have to make a hard choice, and that hard choice will result in a lot of children getting angry and breaking their toys and threatening to run away from home if they don't get what they want. Cause those kids...they don't care about anyone but themselves. Their way or the highway. All that cliched crap that you hear about when it comes to this game. It's not about making the game better, it's about them milking it dry.

The funny thing is you guys think "Burn Jita" caused a huge impact in game....

We should initiate "Burn Eve", all industrialists take two months off from game.....that will be the stuff your grand kids talk about when Eve implodes on itself.

That is ridiculous logic. You are missing the "box" part which is the mechanics of the game, the 'bones' if you will. That presupposes the presence of other people and their actions affecting your gameplay.
