Can it be run in a T3? I have google searched some but the best I can find is Frigates through cruisers. I don't want to get started and then realize I need some different ship.

Yea the sisters one. Thanks for the reply but it doesn't really help answer my question.

i am not aware of any gate restrictions on any of the missions but considering the low cost, faster align times and higher warp speed you REALLY should use a frigate hull. even if it takes you half an hour to buy and fit one (which it won't as you can buy anything you need in arnon), you will still be done faster than dragging your expensive T3 through half of new eden.

I should buy an Ishtar.

I understand. I have run the SOE missions 3 times on my main (this one), using an Ishkur the last 2 times (first time was as a noob).

I have 2 alts that I have trained specifically for wormholes, so I trained them straight to a Drake then Tengu. Given the way missiles work their heavy missile skills are great, but I bypassed all of the smaller stuff.

Between the two of them, they already own 6 Tengu's

Sure I could train them for something smaller to fly. But honestly in the time it would take to skill those up, I could have blitzed through the missions already.

I just need to get them thru for some quicky faction standings ASAP.

iirc the whole arc takes about 4-5 hrs to complete. if you train rockets or light missiles to lvl2 and then fly hookbills you'll still be done faster than with your tengus.

edit: according to eve central, you can buy hookbills in arnon :D

I should buy an Ishtar.

I do the epic arc in a hookbill and it works great with standard launchers with the exception of the last mission. Depending on which faction you choose, you might want to tackle Dagan with rage rockets to break his tank solo in a reasonable amount of time. There's also a better than average chance I'm bad at eve.

This is my standard fit:

[Caldari Navy Hookbill]
Overdrive Injector System II
Ballistic Control System II

Small Shield Booster II
1MN Afterburner II
Cap Recharger II
Cap Recharger II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II

Prototype 'Arbalest' Light Missile Launcher
Prototype 'Arbalest' Light Missile Launcher
Prototype 'Arbalest' Light Missile Launcher

Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I

Tengu will work fine as the others have said, it's just far from optimal due to the number of small ships thrown against you. The Tengu would work better if you substituted heavy missiles for heavy assaults that specialized in tearing up frigates, and just ungrouping your weapons to save on overkill. Or popping in the drone subsystem and letting hobgoblins go wild works too.

The last time I went through this arc, I took a rattlesnake and dominix combo and had no trouble with getting into any of the gates. My goal was to try to kill the carrier from the "An Eye on Everything" mission, but it was invulnerable. There were a ton of battleships with really high bounties to make it worth the effort though. It was satisfying to steamroll through the tougher arc missions with my battleships after doing them the slow way in frigates the first couple of times through.

I understand. I am halfway through the arc already. A tengu with 6 ungrouped launchers and precision missiles seems to be doing fine for my needs. I am escorting 2 alts with no combat experience to get their standings up as well.

I just have always found these kinds of threads funny in a way. I have run the arc plenty and am well aware of the benefits of a fast frigate etc. All I really wanted to know is if I could use a tengu.

^^^ Good advice here.

End of the day you want around 150 dps.

Rage Rocket Hookbill should get you to about 130 which will lead into great if embarrassing entertainment involving overheating (to 150) and faction rockets as opposed to T2 rage. (Yet to be fair i'm referencing a pvp fit hookbill).

If you can and you want to talk caldari ships, - Hawk or Harpy. 6au for ALL that travel, and more than enough dps for Dagan.

Your primary question regarding Tengu? Should work. Just bring drones or anti-frigate missiles. I mean, the last thing you want to lose a Tengu to, is the SoE epic due to webbing and scram frigs.
