Keep sweeping those last few remnants of miners running around the place, see if you can get a few more thousand to close their accounts so next weekend server won't break 30 thousand.

Thank you CCP for encouraging ganking, we're on a roll with all these accounts closing. Good for business huh CCP??

Ah how refreshing, another thread thats gone straight to panic stations.

There is usually a player drop off at this time of year because of a number of external non CCP/Goons/Hulkageddon related factors such as students realising their exams happen over the next couple of months and they need to revise. Others are the improving weather (you know that stuff that happens in the BIG room with the blue and white ceiling) pulling us Morlocks away from our PC's and the beginning of the holiday season which impacts many players EvE time.

On top of these factors there is the release of Diablo 3.

Now please recommence running in ever decreasing circles.

lol I love it when people either deliberately minsinterpret stats or are unable to read through them.

The **** ratings for D3 are all player driven, mainly because of the problem with overloaded login servers and the obscene fact that you need a perma interweb connection to play it.

Oh by the way, the reason the login servers had a problem was because SO MANY people were trying to play it. If very few people had any interest in D3, there wouldn't have been any login problems.

There is NO excuse for not being prepared. they KNEW YEARS ahead of time what was going to hit.

How much longer are we going to let these Game companies get away with false promises and half-delivered services ??? They sure want their money up front, but sure give crap back the other way anymore it seems. 2 1/2 hours of cinematics before actual gameplay in Star Wars: OR, really ??????

Actually, the null sec zealot faction is going to have another excuse for the drop in subs soon.
Read the test server feedback about the new UI inventory system.

Sounds like another stormcloud on the horizon.
So when subs start tailing off this summer, slowly as people's accounts lapse (this one is gone June 9th), the null sec zealot propagandists will be saying:

Diablo
Summertime has nice weather
Lousy UI, but CCP is fixing it and people will be back when it is fixed.
Killing of bots

Of course we will also get the chestnut of " people logging into the game is no indicator of subscription rates".

But by about October the real effects against the subscription base of this campaign against high sec will be felt.
I have posted it in a dozen places that the null sec element within CCP, led by the ex-goon (or not ex-goon) lead developer, in concert with the cfc and the csm, are running a co-ordinated multi-pronged attack against high sec.

We have numerous cfc organized or underwritten "events" targeting high sec play.
Working in conjunction with the null sec zealot propaganda machine on the forums, we have the csm saying "CCP, the people have spoken, we endorse or suggest multiple nerfs to high sec income"
And of course we cannot forget soundwave (the guy who did the 2007 goon presentation at Fanfest). He is the ultimate weapon in this war on high sec. Whether his strings are being pulled by the cfc, or he is merely their philosophical ally, the result is the same. Changes to high sec income that are devastating.

I am keeping one account open to watch to see how this all plays out. The rest are being lapsed out.
I am really looking forward to the battle between CCP marketing/accounting and the soundwave cadre.

If I (and it sure seems like a whole lot others) am wrong, then CCP will sail through this sea change to game play within Eve.
But if I am right, it is going to get ugly within CCP, and we might get lucky and see soundwave fired, and the tides turn against the nulll sec zealots.

I am sincerely wondering.
How old are you?

If you whine like that for a game (that is not your style apparently), what are you doing in real life when **** hits your fan?

Can I have your stuff?
I am pretty sure you will leave this game soon(tm), so remember that I asked your stuff nicely (and I didn't blow them up).

Funnily enough, summers have generally meant an increase in player activity in EVE (last summer being the large exception due to Incarna). The whole “summer lull” thing is a bit of a myth of unknown origin…

Funnily enough, autumns have traditionally been the real source of population lulls in EVE (last autumn being a large exception due to the promise not to make another mistake like Incarna). People go back to school/work after their vacations and the draw of the summer expansion has long since faded…

Do we need to pronounce Eve's doom today? How about we wait a couple of weeks and take a look at how the numbers trend over time.

Ganking has been going on for quite a while, but this dip seems suspiciously localized.

Alternatively if, say, we see populations jump by 10% over the next 2-3 weeks from yesterday's low, will it be reasonable to call Eve an unstoppable MMO juggernaut?

Amen. With you 100%. It's Obvious.

I THINK that I was the first one to call him CCP Soundwaffe, but can't verify that.

One account expired this morning, another one today, so thats 3 toons out of here. The other 2 accounts unfortunately do not time out until mid-June.

Thank God that Civ 5 has a new expansion June 12. Smile

We'll pronounce it tomorrow when everyone lights The Window on fire. 'Backdraft' only thought it had some flames.

Charles nooooooo

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Hi. How the heck are you?

I was ganked during mining. I lost my ship. I got another one, built a good tank, and went right back into the belt.

No one makes me ragequit. Them rocks are mine.

By the same guy no less. Guess he is the unofficial Eve online new Eden citizen population auditor.

Also, low ratings by critics for anything means exactly Jack. You could polish **** and people will still buy it because it's shiny, like transformers 2 for example.
