New bug or "feature" on market order fulfillment?

I'd just like clarification (preferably from CCP or a GM) if the following is a bug, some new feature or I'm doing something wrong with my market settings.

Suppose I have 10 items of X, and I go to sell them on the market to a buy order.

The buy order only happens to require 5 items of X.

I click sell anyway and fill the order.

HOWEVER the new feature seems to take my remaining 5 X and automatically create a sell order at that price leaving 0 X in my hangar.

This is rather annoying if the plan was to sell the next 5 X to another buy order at .01 ISK less, especially since now I have to wait 5 minutes to cancel the newly created order and I'm probably paying extra in market broker fees etc.

So what am I doing wrong? Or is it in fact some new known issue/bug/feature? cheers.

Note : the way it used to work was that no sell order was created after your 5 X was sold. And this appears to happen to me using both the advanced and simple selling screen.

Are you sure you was using simple sell and not advanced? I just sold 2 stacks of items to check your "bug". When I used simple sell it sold 3 and left 4 in my hanger. When I "accidentally" used advanced then it sold 2 items and set up a sell order for the remainder of the stack.

Exactly this. It's working as intended, since "Advanced" is for making sell orders, not selling directly. If you want to sell directly use "Simple" selling.

Yep.

Silly me, it is only happening when I used Advanced orders, though I could swear it never used to set up an order, or something to do with the default setting has changed from simple to advanced....or it is something else I can't quite put my finger on.

Thanks for the help anyway.

It remembers the last type of sell order you used. So if the last time you sold something was through the advanced sell form then that is what will open the next time.

You are correct, advanced used to not do this. It did behave the same as simple does now. It would match what buy orders there were and leave the rest in your hangar and you would sell again to the next buy order. It's been more than a year now, maybe two (?) since the change in behaviors.
