A quick comparison of the item stats for meta 0-5 flavors of the subject module (damage resists are for all types):
META VOL DMG_RESIST_BONUS CPU PG
0 25 -15% 30 1
1 (Upgraded) 5 -15% 28 1
2 (Limited) 5 -15% 27 1
3 (Experimental) 5 -15% 25 1
4 (Prototype) 5 -15% 24 1

5 (T2) 5 -20% 36 1

I was expecting to see incremental increases of 0.5% or 1.0% in the damage resists with each successive meta level. I thought that, surely, a token (and it IS "token" for ships other than frigates, who do have a tight CPU budget) drop in CPU and no additional resist bonus must be a bug (or an oversight in item stat budgeting). Otherwise, how is the cost differential (a factor of 10 today in Verge Vendor, as an example) between meta 0 and 4 justified? Is 6 CPU really worth that much?

Yes... A bug report WAS SUBMITTED.

Can someone with a fancy title 'splain that one to me? Unless in a frigate, there is zero reason to use meta 1-4.

6 CPU is a hell of a lot, especially if you don't have 6 CPU to spare.

Remember, those prices are set by players to what they think they're worth. If the Meta 4 is 10x the price of the Meta 0, that's because other players find it 10x more valuable.

Because yes, sometimes a 33% rebate on CPU is well worth it, and not just on frigates but on anything that takes a ton of other CPU-heavy equipment.

But T2 ANPs cost 0 cpu and give the same resists as meta 4 EANMs....
