Hey all,

I am in need of a ship that can easily dispatch Gurrista ships from afar. I can use all BSs except the Kronos, and i don't have T2 blasters yet.

I thought about: Mael - long or short range, not too fast
Tempest - Quicker, can be a lot of fun, not as tanky
Typhoon Fleet - fast, craptonne of DPS, not much tank at all
Golem/Vargur - very tanky, can 'love' them from afar but weak sig strength
Mach - very fast, awesome, 7 guns and long range means it can 'love' many ships from afar
Tengu - **** boring, awesome tank, average DPS, boring
Loki - Fast and fun, good DPS, decent tank
Proteus - awesome DPS, fast and fun

Other options are a CNR, Rattlesnake, SNI... anyone have a ship that works for them?

Yeah Mach, you can use utility lows for ECCM instead of mids so it'll still do very well against Guristas, you can close up on the jammers and obliterate them with 1kdps.

The Ishtar is far and away the best choice. Everything else will end up losing DPS to jams.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Pretty much anything not Amarr will do.

Guristas are easy to tank due to their damage profile and how pretty much everything (except Amarr) have good or decent Kn/Th resist profiles inherently. They are also very vulnerable to sig/speed tanking.

They are also very easy to damage (except for by the Amarr) since Kn/Th-based weapons are so commonplace and occasionally even come with specific damage type bonuses, depending on the ship. Incidentally, you generally want to use the Caldari drones rather than the Gallente ones, except in the case of sentries.

Their jamming is the only thing you really need to adjust for, and even then, it's fairly easy to avoid (or even ignore).

A sentry carrier or an erebus.

carrier with 15 drones has dps of 2 dominixes (without guns) - i wouldn't call that high dps.

Interesting... Are you shield tanking that? Can I see your fit?

i have 2 fits, 1 for belts:

+high
8 neutrons II
+mid
LSE II
experiental 10 mwd
2x kinetic hardeners II
+low
2 magstab
2 TE
nanofiber
+rigs
3x shield purgers

second for anoms - this changed a bit, but it was something like:

+high
8 425 rails II
+med
2 TP
2 tracking computers
+low
3x magstab
1x nano
1x TE

paper thin tank, but carrier takes aggro and you leave a can 300 off anom and align all the time. kills frigs first because it takes too long with fighters.

I'd be tempted to go Invuln + Kin for the belt ratting fit - Guristas do a far whack of thermal. Have you tried that?

thermal is only 20% of their damage, while kinetic is 80%.

I'm a fan of the Vindicator. I'm getting 1000DPS out of a rail-fit one with antimatter ammo, and just enough range to be able to kill them with ease.
I'm amazed nobody else has even considered this ship...

The Gaming MoD - retro to modern, console to MMO, I blog about it if it's a game and I'm interested in it. Yes, I play games other than Eve and I don't care if you think I'm wrong.

I seriously considered this but i didn't want it for one reason: a PVE Vindi is the personification of "OMGWTFOHNO!"

But yeah... it's DPS, webbing bonus and resists profile would be ideal Smile

Raven Navy Issue with Sensor booster and Signal Amplifier: Lock and kill everything from >100km, high natural sensor strength so you're jam resistant without whacking an ECCM (wasting a precious midslot) on there, Sebo and Signal Amp so you can relock things quickly after (if) you get jammed anyway. chuck some Garde II's out (Wardens if it's a really long range mission) and insta- pop incoming frigs.

stay away from ze marauders, they'll be jammed to hell and back
