last night I got my Hulk Brown up in high Sec buy Chavu and is Buddy and today I Get this Mail in game from Andski

Greetings!

It appears that you were the unfortunate victim of a Hulkageddon gank. As you may have heard, Hulkageddon V has been ongoing since April 30th, and it is well-known that thousands of Hulks and Mackinaws are destroyed during these campaigns. Exhumers are notoriously weak and the poor state of T2 hull insurance makes these ships extremely costly to lose for the victims, while extremely cheap to kill for the gankers.

This is where I come in. I am the Goonswarm Federation director in charge of managing the Hulkageddon campaign, and I deal with selling Mining Permits. The purchase of a Permit ensures that Hulkageddon participants do not target you - should they do so, any winnings they may claim are immediately void, and your loss will be FULLY reimbursed at current Jita prices!

To purchase a Mining Permit, send this character 250 million ISK with the reason "PERMIT" and you will shortly be listed under our exemptions list (characters that Hulkageddon participants must set blue for the duration of the campaign) and any exhumer losses you incur to suicide ganks throughout the remainder of the Hulkageddon campaign will be reimbursed, provided the following conditions:

- Any losses within 4 hours of payment will NOT be reimbursed. Wait 4 hours after payment before resuming your mining! The reason for this is that gankers have some leeway to keep their contacts up to date with our spreadsheet, and cannot be expected to continuously check it.
- The loss must be in HIGH SECURITY space (0.5 security or better!) No party on your killmail may have an active war declaration against your corporation/alliance or be a member of your (non-NPC) corporation.
- Any indication of MACRO USAGE will void your request. Goonswarm Federation does not intend on supporting botters.
- Fraud will not be tolerated. Anyone suicide ganking their own exhumers to collect payouts through this plan will be denied payment.
- Only characters that send 250,000,000 ISK to "Andski" will be listed on the no-kill list! Alts are not covered, unless you send this character that same amount of ISK from those alts!

For reference, your character name will be listed on this exemption list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ag0_cKv2BUAhdHI2NHU5YVY2eERqVU9GZnhVLUJRVVE

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of English teachers suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

The word you are looking for is called extortion. Exploiting would be something different. If they would make you work for them without any proper pay, that would be it. It's easy to get this wrong of cause for one who is willing to work for minimum wage.

There's actually an API-verified killmail though.

I got the same message from Andski. Do you think we should pay?

I wouldn't call Andski my buddy, he's just a guy who paid me isk to kill you :)

I doubt anyone would infiltrate a corp for 2 months, lose a Hulk (API verified killmail) and then **** the English language to within an inch of it's life just to get another thread about HG in GD.

Maybe the fact that it's called Hulkageddon V may be a bit of a tip off that it's not the first. You'd think CCP would rush to protect all you lovely fluffy bunnies out mining by now wouldn't you?

Don't worry, you can stick your head back into the sand again soon.

I've made lots of ISK in highsec mining.. even if they blew me up once a day I'd still turn a profit.

Maybe you should ask yourself why you were blown up.. Not that you were in a hulk, but what you Did wrong, or Didn't do..

Was your hulk tanked ? Did you monitor your surroundings/local ? Did you fly a ship you could afford to replace ?
Did you even know it was hulkageddon, something that's been announced since November, and had specific dates attached to for a month an a half now..

If you did know, then you obviously felt it was a risk worth taking to go out and mine.. So clearly you though you could turn a profit..

If you didn't know, well then you have been living under a rock, and I have no sympathy for you in the least.

I think you'd probably find that the answer is no to all of the questions you asked here. When some people enter EVE they hear the word sandbox and believe that they are supposed to bury their heads in it and never pay attention.

The funny thing is, as was pointed out in another thread, that a lot of those that come here to cry about losing their precious hulk have probably spent a good part, if not the entirety, of their careers (for want of a better word) in EVE being complete isolationists and never really interacting with anyone around them. The one time they do interact with another player, or rather another player chooses to interact with them, then they come hurtling into the forums telling us that CCP had better change the game immediately or they will leave with their horde of alts that they do nothing with but mine all day.

I feel sorry for your ignorance.

How is this exploiting

Why are you safe to mine in highsec

Exactly! Bans should be handed out to the botters who don't know how to tank their exhumer/mining barge

people got blown up due to their own ignorance and never have the intention to learn should never be playing this game in the first place.

Some do or there are others who are social when they wish to be. Have been in corps, alliances and even competed in the Alliance Tourney that enjoy all the aspects of the game and think that ganking is far to easy these days and really NOT a challenge at all and are sick of it simply because there is no risk to the ganker. Ive mined a lot of years in this game, enjoy it. Used to read the Chronicles, forums or whatever else to do with Eve while I mined and chatted to corpies or friends Id made in game a TON while I gamed to pass the time. Far from being unsocial or antisocial.

Ganking is simply FAR to easy. When I can roll alts on trial accounts to gank to my hearts content if I wished for pennies a day...literally... on the most undefended targets in all of Eve its just griefing imo. In fact except in low sec its the one form of suiciding I shall never try due to its ease. Something can be said for challenge...and hulk or mack ganking doesnt have that at ALL.

Now do I support the idea of blowing **** up? Yup. Economics dictates that hulkaggedon NEEDS to happen. But should it be as easy as a 14-21 day alt training cycle on a spare alt slot? No, it just needs some REAL challenge as its proliferation throughout Eve in the past few years has gotten to the point where its just lame imo.

I got into suiciding stuff a long time ago when it was a challenge and not everyone was doing it. Now? Rarely. Theres a few GOOD suiciders out there who consistently go after high value targets but the majority arent that great.

Now for the forum whine well yeah thats going to happen and for the English teachers out there I think even they can tell a non english speaker from a native one using bad grammar. Maybe the slackers and grammar nazis need to take a vacation to a country where few people speak english, get out of the all inclusive resort and stumble around trying to use their bad grammatical excuse for whichever native language it is and be laughed at by the locals there to see how it can be.Twisted

Yes, yes, yes, we get it. You guys are tough! Oh, how tough you are! If only the entire world could be as tough-tough as you are! How sad that not all can be as tough!

It gets old. Perhaps you could try something new and grab your ******* head out of your asses and explain to the OP how EVE works and what makes it keep working. We get it, you're cool! So cool that you sit behind a computer screen and make other people's pixels change color. Oh, how cool you are! If only censorship wasn't a factor here, I would give you a piece of my mind which is the complete and utter disgust I feel for the likes of you.

OP: It's not an exploit because it's legit business within New Eden. I've thought about whether or not it is an exploit that you can suicide-kill someone and then loot the ship with your alt, but the fact is that in looting someone's ship he or she gets the right to kill you, so it isn't an exploit. My advice to you is to adapt your game-play to how other people play the game.

I spoke better English than the OP when I was a first-grader in Eastern Europe. What he did wasn't communication, it was genocide. He literally killed all the words.

So then I take it youd speak every other language perfectly as well then? The point isnt what YOU spoke well when you were however old its that there are a lot of people in the world were english, or any other language for that matter, isnt their native languages and idiotic grammar nazis such as yourself that consistently bash that instead of just bothering to try to read the post for what it IS...bad english from a non native speaker.... and get to the gist of it should just go suicide yourselves in your shinest ship at the jita 4-4 undock. Cuz its lame, repetitive and old. If thats the only reason to comment in a thread you need to get outside more.
