How come no one has ever tried a massive universe wide take-over?

If you think about it, a lot of humanly patterns come through in to our little sandbox of eve. You'd think someone would have tried to take over the universe by now, but it hasn't happened (that i know of, but even if someone HAS tried, it didnt work).

Personally... I can think of a pretty good way to do it. Forming a communist corporation that spread the entire universe. I could orchestrate even spread of wealth and products. Everything could cost 1 isk like in sisi, anyone who dared to stop us would be put down forcefully.

At first, taxes would be 100 percent, all money would go to the corporation. But then once control was established, and items were available to everyone, people could pursue their own fortune and desires. Enforcers would roam space like a mobile concord, keeping the piece.

It will be GLORIOUS.

Where's the fun in that? you'd think with 7000 members, 20% of the servers population at given times, 90% of them are noobs or alts. Unless you had a jump bridge network spanning the circumference of eve, multi time zones, and hundreds of people with the same jump clones it would be logistically a nightmare, logistics costs alone, lack of targets would be a major problem, most decent o.o corps have great pvp pilots, the last thing they want is to have 7000 alliance members in local space (this is what would be required to control such regional space) not just for lack of targets but blob warfare isn't fun.

Because we are not Chinese. I believe that the entire Serenity server rebelled against Concord and bought it to its knees.. that needs confirmation though.

It need a group-wide dynamic and a dictatorial mindset for that to happen with a group like this. Not in our lifetime matey

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

No one has managed to actually conquer all of nullsec on Tranquility. There are simply too many systems. The only ones who came close were Band of Brothers, and they got spread so thin they got trounced by newbies in Rifters.

Because if 'Humanity' had the ability to manage a universe wide takeover, it would have happened already. Don't you know how hard it is to get people to agree on anything or follow a common goal?

Also, most world domination attempts are formulated by one person attempting to control everybody else with little regard for their personal state of being or happiness, or whether they are even willing.

Then you have to consider this too: EVE is a 'niche' game right? ..with people playing it that are attracted to that 'niche' right? ..and strangely enough, all these individuals with this common interest can't get along and are hardly capable of agreeing on any one thing or working together except in a handful of cases that make up less than 1% of the population.

I sincerely hope you are trolling.

They tried, but were betrayed on several fronts.

It's not possible due to over extension. Eventually your manpower and resources are strained trying to hold too many fronts. Many empires and regimes, real or imaginary, have fallen under the weight of their own aspirations for world domination.

A complete universal takeover would involve high sec too, not a nice thought really.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...
