Epic Arc questions

So I've decided to get working on one carebear goal I've had on my list, which is to run the Faction epic arcs. I decided to start with the Gallente Arc since my toon is all Gallente.

There doesn't seem to be a ton of information about them. So I had a few hopefully simple questions.

First. I have heard they are a bit tougher than your average LVL 4. This toon has great drone skills and I typically have run LVL 4 missions in either a Sentry (or heavy depending on the mission) Dominix, or Ishtar. Occasionally I've been known to PVE in a Proteus when I am bored.

I have an alt I would bring along in a Tengu. So would a Tengu+ Domi work? I figure with 2 ships I can overtank the Domi a bit.

Second, how ugly are the faction hits for these missions. I have only read about the Gallente one so far, but some sites call the NPC's in some missions "mercenaries" while others said they are Minmatar. I understand I may take some sort of hit with other factions but would obviously like to minimize that if necessary.

Thanks

I can offer you no more advice than the guides you can find in the link in my signature.

thanks Jowen. Your guides are partially what prompted my post. I have been reading through them. But I saw some potential discrepancies that I was unsure about. For example, in one of the first few missions of the Gallente arc, one guide listed the NPC's as Minmatar. But your guide puts them as mercenaries. Obviously there can be a noticable difference in potential standings loss between mercenaries and minmatar, which is my concern.

Her guides are great, for the pirate arcs (I already own them). But I was looking at the Faction arc's in this thread.

I did do some searches. I only came up with one thread concerning the gallente arc. It was useful but left me with the 2 questions I was asking in this thread.

Gallente arc has some insane incoming damage in a few missions, but if you can split it between two ships it will help quite a bit. If you use a Tengu, make sure you fit at least some buffer on Showtime so you don't find yourself unable to rep in time.

The Minmatar ships are independent; no associated standings hit there.

The proteus would actually be brilliant for a lot of the missions. The majority of the rats in the arc deal kin/th damage, and it can fit a very impressive active tank vs them without sacrificing too much dps.

Similar situation: I ran the amarr arc in a loki, and I only needed a single th hardener and a couple of T2 medium armor reps.

Any T2 gallente/caldari ship should stand a reasonable chance against it though, given the high natural resists to the incoming dps.

Interesting. Proteus + Tengu would likely be pretty fun as well. Do you think for some missions an Ishtar would outperform a Dominix as well?

My biggest concern is travel with a BS. I know from the several times I've run SOE, that there was so much travel. At least with SOE I could do the whole thing in a Frig. I would prefer if there is lots of travel to not have to ferry multiple ships everywhere.

The racial arcs aren't as bad, but there's still some travel involved. I'd recommend doing it in one ship, though if you have an orca, bringing a few more options wouldn't hurt.

Also, be advised that some of the arcs have a random mission thrown in that deviates from the incoming damage type of the others. Make SURE to read up on the mission before you warp in.

Hey all

I figured I would reply now that I just completed the Gallente arc. It actually was a pretty good time. Many of the missions were far more difficult than i expected. I think i had a total of 4 warp outs.

I expected to have some tank issues with my Dominix. What I was surprised is that at least one mission even the Tengu had a hard time tanking, and that was not being webbed.

Overall though. Fun times. And got my Gallente standings from 1.79 to 2.77

Thanks all for the help. On to the grind with Brutor Tribe for the Minmatar arc.

I am just finishing the Amarr lvl 4 epic arc and that last mission is evil, there is a repeating chain of spawns that is just crazy, I imagine salvaging it after is going to be sweet.

I did not enjoy it in my domi so i brough my tengu to the fight and am having much more fun with it. Just make sure if you bring a missle boat you bring something to deal with elite frigates like precision heavies.

the rewards are nice, i'm very excited to do the caldari epic, so I can get that lab.

oh are the level 4 epic arcs the same as sisters once every 4 months or something liek that or one time only like COSMOS.

Cheers and fly safe.

They are every 3 months like Sisters. I just got my standings with Brutor tribe last night so Im gonna run the Minmatar arc as soon as I can decide what ship to try. I may end up with just the same Domi/Tengu pair.

Syndicate elite BS rats use mwd and blasters, and do far higher dps than normal blaster rats at close range. Fit prop & thermal tank. Other rats are no more difficult than normal missions.
