I'm sure this has come up before.

But how about Boosters/Stims which can speed up you're skill training by a significant amount for a limited period of time, such as an hour or so?

And of course they should be expensive and also give you negative effects while under the influence of the booster, and there should also be a major time limitation between use, an explanation could be that too much frequent use could be extremely damaging for you're implants.

So......Bad idea? hrm?

we already have implants.. Giving people with too much money a way to train faster is a bad idea,

Think about it..

Well, there could be a way to limit it to where they are rare, or extreemly rare.

Making it so only the elite and people with alot of RL cash to spare would have access to them,,,

Bad idea,

Yeah, well how about offering them as a rare mission reward or for incursions? with like a 1.2% chance of gaining them?

Same as with your last posts, since eve has no bind-on-pickup, the source doesn't matter.. Rare is rare

Not to mention the fact that an item reducing skill traning time is universal, only offering them to mission/incursion runners would be unfair..

Bad idea

It's a bad idea because we already have implants. However, if you were to propose removing attribute implants and replacing them with this, then it has some potential.

Currently, implants can serve as a deterrent to PVP and entering 0.0, because of the fear of losing them. Replacing attribute implants with a temporary booster effect offers a way round that. There are drawbacks wrt pirate implant sets etc., but the idea has potential.

If you use remaps wisely they do the same thing. Everybody has access to them and you start with a couple of bonus ones and only get one per year.

Job done.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

I brought this issue up a while back and got the same responses. Mainly you get one remap a year and if you want to train something out of it, say leadership, if you're mapped int/mem takes far longer than if you remapped for it. But if you only want the one skill, it doesn't make sense to waste the remap on it.

Boosters could come in handy for said scenario.

There are problems with it though, as others have suggested, you would need to limit the use of them somehow, and keep cost from being a prohibitive factor so that people would gain easy access to them.
