it does produce somewhat of a fin de siècle sensation, the degeneration of space ship posts from what they once were to mindless self-indulgence with the goal to appear more 'sophisticated' than the other. is this really an admirable goal? should we strive to attain this or would climbing up to reach at it only cause us to fall deeper?
