Setting up a mining operation - need some help on details

So i finally decided to give mining a real shot. Generally the original idea was to use 5 accounts, 4 of them in a hulk, the fifth in a gangboosting orca. The orca was supposed to haul the ore as well but after giving numbers a closer look i came to the conclusion that that would result of my gangboost being in warp/docked in station half of the time aka i completely underestimated the ammount of ore mined by 4 hulks. The alternative would to use one of the hulk pilots as a hauler instead but that would obviously cut down the potential yield as well.

So is there any solution to the dilemma i haven't noticed ( i figured using a trial account on a second computer would be an option for hauling, but that is pretty much effort just to keep a hauler running).

Well if you like torture yourself... Trial accounts cant fly any industrials...

How i would do it is get second orca for haul all that ore. Keep first one in belt to maintain boost

Just mine for 1.50 hours and then take a break from mining or just have them mine unboosted while u pickup, or you could get a rorq and haul 2 times as much.

1 orca boosting and storage (no haul) (Suggest having Max Director/Foreman skills, t2 gang links, and Mining Foreman Mindlink)
1 Hauler (SImple T1 Industrial if for training speed until 2nd orca for hauling I think the amarr industrial is the best for training time)
3 Hulks (5% implants for yield)

I don't always bring out my Absolution.

But when I do it makes the Blue's rage, lol.

Orca bonuses are only counted at the beginning (cycle time and range) and end (mining yield - or is that beginning too?) of the miner's cycle. Therefore if you can synchronize your Hulks' miners and manage to land, unload, and redeploy the Orca inbetween two cycles, you will not lose any productivity.

Alternatively, get another character in a hauler doing the hauling.

POS in-system with a couple small ship assembly ararys for storage (2m m3 per); warp Orca to POS, unload to storage array; still boosting while in space. When the day is done undock a freighter, go to POS, pick up ore, refine in your station (assuming no-take standings), profit.

Why would you use a couple of assembly arrays? Use large with 18million m3 and be done with it.

Didn't think about the way gangbonuses are applied. Setting up that pos might be a good idea, even though it eats a bit into the profits.

I'd think leaving a small POS up for a few hours is trivial in terms of money. The most annoying thing would probably be the anchoring/onlining delay.

If you are not actually building and just want storage, then an Advanced Large Ship Assembly Array is bigger at 19.5 million m3, and the same fitting requirements.

Or join some mining corp which provides orca bonuses, and you can use yours for hauling :)

Or join mine corp, and you will get rorqual bonuses :)
