TLDR - Click HERE at 1700 Sat!

As was mentioned in our recent letter to the community which was published as a dev blog, CSM 7 will be conducting our first open Q&A with the community this Saturday. In order to ensure there are no technical problems with EVE Voice and to prevent people from having to install / configure a third party client, we will be holding the Town Hall meeting live on EVE Radio. If everything goes smoothly, this will be the first of many such meetings held over the course of our term.

Important Information

EVE Radio will be setting up a dedicated stream for this and all future meetings. All you have to do is go here:

EVE Radio CSM Town Hall

For this first meeting, we will be starting out by answering questions submitted by eve mail. We will probably also end up taking questions from this thread, the in game channel 'CSM Townhall' and Twitter but eve mailed questions will take priority!

Please eve mail your questions to both Two step and Hans Jagerblitzen. Try to keep your questions clear and concise.

The official running time of the meeting will be two hours but a few of us may hang out longer than that to sing songs or tell lies about kill mails.

Please tune in and enjoy!

EDIT - Please see this post to answer some questions about why we chose EVE Radio specifically instead of EVE Voice or another third party client.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Whether or not you win the game matters not.  It's if you bought it.

While using Eve Radio is a great community based solution; it doesn't seem like a "town hall meeting" as much as "listen to the CSM on Eve Radio." It would be great if this were a radio interview, but it's not. The lack of direct iteration with the community is disappointing including questions only being accepted via Eve Mail.

Eve Voice also provided neutrality. One of the largest complaints from the first CSM6 fireside chat was the involvement of non-CSM members. The Eve Radio DJs are great. I enjoy and support their shows. That said; I do hope those speaking during the broadcast will be limited to CSM7 delegates as this is a CSM7 Town Hall meetings.

The issue was one of technical limitations. Once we sat down and discussed things with CCP on how to best conduct this, reach the broadest audience and have the most hassle-free experience, it became apparent that EVE Voice was not suited (or designed) to handle this type of thing.

EVE Radio has shown during the past couple of CSM election cycles that they are capable of handling large volumes of traffic and speakers. It seemed only natural to ask if they would be willing to assist. As was noted, EVE Radio is setting up an entirely separate stream for these special events so it's not exactly a 'normal' show for them.

As to the speaking roles, once things start off the primary speakers will be either Two Step or Hans reading questions and then whomever among the CSM wishes to speak. We will all also be in the eve-radio chat channel in game so there will likely be live interaction based on that as well.

I hope this answers some of the questions / concerns about this. Smile

You and your word choice; absolutely fantastic. It will be interesting to see how the first Town Hall Meeting handles.

Technical limitations can certainly be daunting. I'm sure all options were considered prior to the final decision. Eve Radio seems to be a reasonable, non-neutral alternative. Hopefully a neutral option will available in the future and I'll be looking forward it to when it comes.

As for the Eve Radio channel, it's most likely one of the busier chat channels in game. If there is an Eve Radio show on during the Town Hall meeting, which there should be since the meeting will be kept separate from Eve Radio's normal broadcasting, the Eve Radio channel will be filled with the listeners for the normally scheduled show as well as their discussions. Perhaps a separate chat channel for questions and discussion would be better suited for this separate broadcast? I think the CSM should take whatever opportunity they can to define this as a CSM event rather than an event hosted by a community organization.

It will be interesting to see how the Town Hall meetings develop. I hope they can become a strong tool for the CSM to connect directly to the community.

We still have the original CSM Townhall channel set up and can easily use that.

We already have our other ingame channels set up for our separate streams of Rock/Dance and Talk, we could open up the talk for the CSM if needed so that it is away from the main bulk of chatter, or maybe the CSM can create a "Town Hall" channel and mod etc. it accordingly?

Eve Radio is "Neutral" ... whether a particular DJ is , thats different.. Wiggles has stated taht he will be there as stream host only and not be taking part in the show.... So Im not sure exactly where or how you got the idea that Eve Radio is non-neutral...

Just wondering if everyone's questions will be addressed? or just The select few? being in a few of these over the years has showed me personally that the game host companies will "censor" the interview/questions down to categories that they wish to address and omit the more "controversial questions" , and or totally ignore the people asking them. I have many questions for the powers that be , and I am just wondering if it will be worth my time to attend?

Only you can determine the answer to that question, but you won't know for sure unless you do attend. If they don't field your questions, then either do something about it or give up.

Well, we've blocked off at least two hours and some of us may hang out longer so time shouldn't be TOO much of an issue. As for censoring questions, based upon the composition of this group we tend to enjoy catching each other off guard sometimes and have a bit of fun with it. It's also a live broadcast so... yeah, I think it will be worth your time. Smile
