Ungrouped weapon damage compared to grouped

For a while now I have noticed that ungrouped guns seem to do a fair bit more damage than grouped guns overall, has anyone noticed anything like this and is there any sort of reason? I highly doubt it is down to sheer "luck" as many people I know have noticed this too. I have read about overflow after the target dies, but this is about actually doing more damage while the target is alive.

Pics or it didnt happened... seriously. I don't want to be clicking 8 buttons to fire my guns instead of 1 because of rumors. It's just dumb.

One thing I know they will be damaging more for sure and that is your bandwith, as your client will have to send one message for each weapon you fire instead just a single message for the group.

You're probably imagining it.

Some of those people claiming ungrouped guns deal more damage may just have noticed overflow. And some may just have the same "feeling" you do.

If you're convinced you're on to something, try performing some damage over time experiments.

According to a recent (re)confirmation by CCP, the damage calculations are always done individually per weapon, regardless of how they are grouped. Only difference is in the server interaction, all grouped results in the calculation done in one go instead of a separate call/answer per weapon.

ungrouped guns don't do more damage per ship, but kill group of ships faster..

i have blaster talos for belt ratting, and it's really dumb to shoot all 8 guns on a battleship, that has only hull or part of it.

i have 3 grups: 3x3x2 and when one deactivates i start shooting next target. dps is the same, but there are no empty cycles

Ungrouped guns produce less overkill, meaning that you waste fewer dps with the shot that actually kills the target. That's all.
