Hi all. First of all thanks for the vids in here to all that make them. I honestly mean it when I say this forum keeps me pewing on a bad day when falcon alts are everywhere and that awesome 1v1 brawl gets busted by his rapier buddy.

May I ask that when posting to youtube you make the vids viewable on mobile devices? Most aren't and I would very much appreciate being able to watch EVE awesomeness at work on lunch.

Cheers to those that do.

It's a video, in a webpage on the internet. Why can't you just view it? Spoof being a regular browser or device if YT's doing something their end? Or is there some reasonable technical thing going on here that requires YT support to help 'mobile' devices?
What's the difference between a tablet and a netbook anyway? A smartphone and a tablet? Sure instruction set & hardware acceleration, but video data & format is video data & format.
Or is this an Apple-devices specific thing? A restriction to use 'an app for that' rather than just a browser??

TBH not sure, every time I try to access Youtube through my app or just using the browser on my phone half the videos in here say 'the user has not set the video available on mobile devices'.

I can only assume it's a setting when posting to youtube or on the channel itself.

It's no major issue, just a little saddening when I read about a vid being pretty good and can't watch it at lunch (I don't work in an office so access to the net comes through my galaxy note). I can set it as watch later of course and watch at home however i'm puzzled why it happens at all TBH.

I *think* the issue is that it has copyrighted content (most likely songs):

From the youtube video options:

Quote:
Syndication
Yes, make this video available on mobile phones and TV. Note, the video may not be available on all devices due to copyright or licensing issues.

I just checked and my own videos default to allowed on mobile devices but if any copyrighted material is found inside that is automatically shut off.

Right but if it's YT's side, that they trust what your client says that it's a mobile device and then pull this copyright stunt, why not just use a client that bullshits them so YT think you're a regular desktop browser which they don't act so stupid with. I'm sure there's enough demand that there's an option for that, at least on FOSS Android devices. YMMV on locked down stuff like Apple's. Why make every content uploader try and fail to work around this, when changing your User Agent isn't any legal issue.

if you have copyrighted music on your video and it gets flagged on you tube, as having copyrighted music in it, it will NOT be enabled to be viewed on a mobile device. There is unfortunatly nothing you can do about it. Even the selection under voideo manager that asks if you would like to enable it for mobile viewing is greyed out.

Aah thanks then. It must be the music people use then.

Cheers for the info :)
