i would like to run missions for a pirate corp(Guristas) but i saw they are in low-null sec; Would i need to join a player corp
that operates in that area or could i use a cloak?

Also would it effect my standing in hi-sec? negatively

Hey dude, if you have little experience with nullsec life then join a Corp that lives in the NPC region you are interested in.

You don't need to join a player corp but it would be advisable to have friendlies around you to increase safety for you to run these missions.

Good Luck.

Guristas space is NPC null, so players can't clain SOV, however, I think the only way into their space is through Player Null, where NC holds SOV. (If that is still true, I barely follow null politics)

Currently you have Legion of xDEATHx in Venal. You can live there and run missions but they attack every one they can.

I can name a couple of entities they wouldn't attack. Roll

Bottom line is if you are relatively new, it might be wise to wait until you get a better lay of the land.
