WTF! Joined some new MMORPG’S and Eve is hot topic in the forums, but they think CCP is a joke and so is their sandbox! Anyone else heard this?

So this friend has a neighbor who works with a guy that plays a game where someone in the game had a cat and the cat has a sandbox, but not in the game that this other guy heard about that he plays when he's not playing Eve, which isn't very often, because mostly, all the folks this other guy reads about in this other game forum are playing Eve with another guy, but not the cat.

That's what I heard.

Meh Eve is lightyears ahead of other MMO's to be honest.

Wow, Star Wars, Warhammer, Aion, and countless other MMO's are the exact same and have an expiry date. wow has been going almost as long as Eve... except look at wow and look at eve.... Eve modern... WoW.... count the pixals on the screen at this stage, dont get me started on gameplay *shudders*

I can see Eve lasting alot longer, even though with alot of the changes i seem to be loosing more and more interest in the game. Hopefully the pro changes outweigh the cons but sure we will see!

Some things to consider OP.

1. Most of those people who call EVE a joke are playing sword and shield fantasy games and shooters that could not be a more different genre then EVE if they tried. A lot of those sword and shielders switch theme parks every year or so.

2. The ones playing Space Sci Fi Games like Black Prophecy, STO, Battlestar are faction based WASD / Joystick controlled shooter fests. EVE isn't that and they probably shouldn't be playing EVE if they really just want F-16's in Space.

3. EVE is slow. It is long term slow gameplay about building capital and fighting wars that last years and then end and then start up again in a different form. Building power bases and avoiding being crushed. It isn't do this raid, make that level, fight that boss.

EVE is a unique genre of Tactics over flash, liquid expendable capital over guaranteed life long possessions and teams instead of factions. They don't like the game play because they don't like the genre.

EVE isn't a popular genre but for the people who enjoy this tactical capitalistic militaristic sci-fi style their is nothing better.

They say that the game is limited to a niche market and recent loss of numbers can't be good, now my applications to join corp's get rejected because i might be a suicide ganker!

It is niche and that is good. If it wasn't it would have to compete with every other game out there. EVE is liked by many older gamers and gamers are growing up now. EVE has pretty much cornered this area of the MMO market with 10 years of content.

Try nullsec or wormholes if you can or find a new corp. In a completely player driven game you run into these types of personal issues.

The question is, is EVE Online your Genre?

I don't like making people cry.... but I do find it amusing when they do since it is just a game.

Aside from that. EVE saved me alot of cash since im really not interested in other games anymore which means im not spending money buying new games. So im here to stay.
