still waiting for a crimewatch devblog here.....

Would like to know if in this war related patch we can finally start fighting empire wardeccing allainces
or that we still have to hang up with remote repping alts and boosters all over the place.
since there has been so much talk about this subject since the fanfest... yet still there is not a single
post , devblog or anything on the test server about this.

Since the defenders can't step out of wars anymore it would be nice to atleast remove all these
alt tools from the agressors that specialize in empire wars.
I don't mind them having these tools at all by the way. but atleast make it so
that they have to be in the same corp/allaince to do the tasks there doing.

Not sure if there are any other things that bother wardeccers the most but the top 3 atm is probably:

1: neutral remote repping alts
2: neutral fleetboosters. ( atleast the repping alts go red when they do something )
3. loot thieves. ( the wrecks of ships you killed should give you rights to kill people that still from it )

Thats about it I think for now.

Let the flaming begin!

Last we heard…

1. neutral reps will be flagged as “suspects” and become legal targets to anyone in the system.
2. fleet bosters aren't doing anything aggressive and will, as always, won't get flagged for anything.
3. killing people doesn't convey ownership and doesn't need any rewards. The stuff will still belong to the victim and anyone stealing it will be flagged “suspect” (including you).

Yeah they can. Rt Click Toon -> Remove Roles -> Quit Corp.

You just won't be allowed back in for a week.

Hmmm I thought the war followed you now...IE if you jump corp to a newb corp your still attackable by your former war targets until that war ends...is this not the case?

The Corp Hop Song
We’ve also implemented a good suggestion from Fanfest, which is that if you leave your corporation while it is engaged in a non-mutual war, then you will not be able to rejoin the corporation until that war ends, or until 7 days pass, whichever comes first. Note that this rule only applies for non-mutual wars – mutual wars do not prohibit players from entering or leaving corporations. The main reason for this change is to combat the popular alt corp hopping (this doesn’t stop it completely, but limits it a lot).

Good to hear that carebears can read DevBlogs.

I will start with saying what was said during crimewatch.

The flagging system is a horribly complex mess that requires alot of time and effort to fix. Stuff like neutral reppers etc will start being fazed out as hopefully legit merc corps come in to get the good kills. The 60 second flag timer won't help when real pvpers can easily roam between wars and get the easy kills on those that try for easy kills.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Hope it works out nicely.

Imagine the surprise of the neutral rep alts :)

I got your back, bro.

I think its rather crazy to "overhaul" the war system and leave out those problems.

At the very least the aggression timer needs to be added ASAP. As of my last test-server run (a week back) I was able to RR someone that was actively fighting and docked immediately. LAME.

As excited as I am about the new war mechanics, this is a HUGE problem in hisec wars as is and needs to be dealt with before it can really be called an "overhaul" or a "fix."

Can't wait to dual box my Dust toon and EVE toon on the same machine!

what your saying m8.

love the wardeccing overhaul but they leave one or rather 2 big holes open

the remote reps and the neutral booster alts.

the booster alt is just easilly fixed in my eyes, just make everyone that joins fleet with someone that has a dec go red
to the agressorts or defenders.

still waiting for a Dev answer

CCP Greyscale was saying you will be able to buy back better sec status with commander and officer tags. I think we are all in the dark on timeline though. I was under the impression the new crimewatch was coming with Inferno and now I hear it's not. Who knows...

Isn't Crimewatch that old dude using the walker and the woman with blue hair and too many cats that walk around for 10 minutes, get winded, and sit down at a bus stop before heading home again?!!?!?

I'd rather have the CCP developers coding instead of placating whiny publords with a bunch of words.

My only question...

Will the suspect flag be 15 minutes like current theft timers, ore will it be something different?
