I just hauled a big load from a planet with a tax of 12,5 % not bad but it didn't add up
the calculation made it like the electronics I hauled had a unit price of 9000.
so I did some digging and found that all the P2 stuff I hauled from these planets had a unit price of 9000.Shocked
I don't mind to pay but I don't like being cheated. consumer Electronics price is somewhere around 6000-8000 on average.

So my question is it the costume office owner or CCP that sets the unit price. Because this is just to expensive

If its player owned customs office, then its the owner of sayd office that sets it. And i do believe standings have some effect on taxes on those as well..

If its concord owned, well then its ccp..

Did another calculation. got to love an calculation sheet.Big smile
and Units are a uniform base price. P1, P2, P3 P4 and so on.

P1 = 500 /unit
P2 = 9000
P3 = 70000
P4 don't know that one

In both private owned and CONCORD Owned costume offices.
Considering how the rest of EVE works then The unite price should be fluctuating to Ugh

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

is it me or does that just make everything NOT PROFITABLE?
which just feels ridiculous. the only way around this is shilling out 70mil for a customs office (which can be blown up). What?

I did some calculations and found that producing to P3 over 2 planets will make 1/3 of your profit go away just in tax and that is if you get your materials from planets with 12,5% and 10% tax.

export 12.5% adds a price of isk/unit
P0 = 0,63
P1 = 62,5
P2 = 1125
P3 = 8750

export 10% adds a price of isk/unit
P0 = 0,5
P1 = 50
P2 = 900
P3 = 7000

import if half of that.
that is just a rip off

It's as if CCP want to move the majority of game content out of high sec and into a player driven universe instead of an NPC driven one, Shocker!

Not Profitable = you end up paying more than you earn
Less profitable = you don't make as much as you used to.

Highsec extraction and manufacture to P2 is 'less profitable'. not 'not profitable'.

You're in the same boat as /everyone/ else. You want the extra profit, you get a customs office. which you then protect with your friends.

Woo! CSM XI!

Or join a corp who has some POCOs at low tax rates for its members...

In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse.

Even with a favorable tax rate on the POCOs, be prepared to shell out millions in taxes / week if you are fully utilizing several planets. You definitely need a healthy dose of start-up capital if you are looking to make anything that's not just for commodity dumping on the market.

Another way to look at PI and the tax stuff is that It is all red ink (ISK Sink) until you either make fuel blocks (not having to buy them on-market) for your POS or when you sell PI-derived goods on the market. Plan your budget accordingly.

Not trying to be critical or sound like a complete jerk but……

You set everything up THEN figure out how the taxes work when they seem too high?

Ever heard of google? Did you do any pre-production research before you tossed down that first command center, besides highest priced item on the market? If you searched “Eve online customs office”, “eve online poco taxes” or anything like those, you would have found the link that was posted above as well as plenty of other useful information.

Judging by the numbers you provided you are trying to milk the PI cow in hisec and maybe slipping over the line into low when no one is looking. News flash – you’re milking a bull.

If you can’t put up your own poco’s or get really good standings with someone that does have their own (thereby hopefully getting low tax rates from them) you might be best off to stick to items you can make on a single planet. Isk per unit might be lower but you will not pay out nearly as much in taxes either.

I thought I was doing ok on PI in hisec until we moved to nullsec, all I can say is the difference is like night and day. I will never pay a tax anywhere near those again. By the way, i think 7% is a high tax rate nowdays.

You can also use my program (linked in my signature) which will calculate your taxes and your profits. You can additionally set the tax rate for any import/export movement on each intermediate product.
