Trading - What ways are possible / profitable

Hello everyone,

I am returing to EvE after a good 9 month of not playing. I mainly played as a trader and used the money to do some other fun / interesting stuff.

Well a little bit about myself. I am station trading in Jita. After reactivating my account with a Plex I was at around 1.3b ISK. After the first two days of playing and getting back into the market I already made a profit of around 150 million, so things are not going to bad (I had some of my old items backed up so I could start right away cause right now I dont have much time to research the market).

Here is what I want to know. I know there are a lot of other ways of trading. Region wide trading or inter region trading. The thing is, when should I start with this and what do I need? I had a second account for a while and did some inter regio trading, but the problem werer the other 400 million to get a plex for the other account, which significantly decreased my overall monthly profit. Also I have to admit I was pretty dumb when doing it.

I know that I would search the market, put up buy orders in Amarr for an item that I can 50% cheaper then in Jita and afterwards put up a sell order in Jita, cause I get 50% more profit there (just an example). But is this really profitable? I mean I would have to transport the stuff around and constantly check on items etc. Is this all really worth doing it? Are there items that do really damn well if I buy them in a remote region and sell them in Jita for example? I am not asking for any items or trade routes, I just want to know, is it profitable and what do I need.

Also what other things / ways of trading are there? I read about BP trading. Which was basically buying the BPs from NPC orders in a station and sell them in a region / empire were the BPs are not sold by NPCs.

If anything changed and I wrote total bullshit, please excuse me, I didnt have the time to check out the changeboard etc.

Greetings!

Hauling is tiresome, anoying and boring. Let other people do the hauling. Both Red Frog and Push have fees that are small enough to be worth it. The time saved is more time that can go into researching markts or whatever it is you like to spend your money on.

There's lots of stuff you can buy for cheap elsewhere. Mission drops come to mind. *shrug* This is the part where oyu have to do your own research.

Is it really necessary to have to char on different accounts?
cant you keep the the other trader on the same account as one of your alt, sure a bit more hassle but it would save you 400Mio.
if you still feel the need to keep them on two separate account. Try to maximize the gain on each account.

Train a freighter char on one, so when you don't have to be on maybe you can do some AFK moving.
Get PI on all the char slots.
And it used to be worth it to have research agents on them also, not sure thou with the new changes that are coming.

I've had luck with PI stuff, since everyone and their mother does that. Minerals like morphite, megacyte and zydrine. Moon minerals like Cadmium, Vanadium, etc. All kind of ships, especially T2. (I once bought a stack of around 30 Prowlers directly from sale orders in Rens really cheap which I sent back to Jita) Faction ammo used to work really good, not sure now since I don't do this kind of trade anymore. Also it's hilarious when you jump into The Citadel or Lonetrek regions (1 jump from Jita) and you find stuff cheaper there.

If you use 2 accounts; park an alt in Jita and the other in another region so you can compare prices really fast. Open market (or configure the quickbar) and start going through each category from top to bottom on both clients. Ammo>Drones>Industry>PI>Mods>Ships. You'll be surprised at how much stuff is on sale orders, cheaper than Jita.

In this case, since you go to a lot of systems, it is faster if you have your own freighter with a cloaky transport or industrial in the cargo hold. If you spot a nice stack of items along the route you can leave the freighter, fly in the transport and go back to the freighter, you'll save some time. If it's only between major trade hubs (Jita, Dodixie, Amarr, Rens) just use a freight service. I think the most expensive one is Rens because is about 25 jumps from Jita (about 10m per trip).

Is it profitable? Yes. But like someone else said, the hauling sucks.

As noted above it is *only* worthwhile having a second account if you *need* to have both characters logged in at the same time, if you don't then it isn't worth it.

If you are going inter-regional and are going to pay to have stuff moved then whilst Amarr is the absolute closest to fly to remember that Dodixie is the closest visible alternate market hub at a whole 2 jumps from Jita. If you have your remote skills trained then it's very simple to do this as you can sit on the boundary and just remote trade. - I will also note that you can do the exact same boundary sitting with Jita/Amarr. You can also sort your market orders by location to make it easier to see which is where.

I have an idea for you, how about you conduct some trial and error? Rather than ask the community to hold your hand.
