They have the storyline, they the characters, they got the models and media.

So why not do it? Or at least license it out to a toon house to do it for you?

This I certainly agree with, they definitely have talent.

I am just still amazed it HASN'T been done yet, perhaps shortage of money or resources and time? Why the heck not license it then. It could have huge potential too and used as an advertisement for Dust and Eve in each episode, just as toys are done for cartoons etc.

My personal belief, they have limited staff and priorities for both eve and dust, and prefer to show off the game footage instead.

But, like you, would love to see something like this.

They could license it out to a studio.

Yes George Lucas could do wonders, but still need CCP involvement

Of course, it would have to be overseen by them but still it gets the thing moving. Even a pilot episode or two.

Animated series show people doing things. With each other. While in space you see the captain and the bridge crew interacting.

In game, we have none of that.

It would definitely bring out the word of EVE out to those who havent heard of it yet but would be immediately hooked once they try it out Blink

After Star Wars I, II and III he is no longer allowed to touch the Sci-Fi genre.

You don't need to actually be able to do it in game (yet). Movies about video games are frequently made, some with live actors, simply using the settings/ships/weapons/etc.

We actually already have excellent Avatars they could easily use for the character interaction sections.

Release them as a YouTube series of shorts, cultivate a following, watch your subscriber base number take a sharp upswing.

Clear Skies is brilliant Machima, but that isn't really what we are talking about.

Half my point was missed: How do we show the captain interacting with the crew, giving orders and so on, when the captain is floating in a pod of goo? What would it look like on screen? Command chair quickly loads into the pod just before the ship explodes? Holographic avatar of the captain sitting in the command chair? What?

If a way around this issue could be found, one that does not shred the game back story, then this sounds like a fine idea.

If it would be awkward due to capsules, the series doesn't have to be about capsuleers. It could be more like the Chronicles. Capsuleers are, after all, in the minority compared to non-capsule crews (lore-wise).

I would think doing so runs the risk of players wanting to see its story incorporated into the eve universe they play in, and that might ruffle some feathers from the 'we make the story' crowd.

So close...

Rather than showing an officer in slime, show the officer in the ship matrix. The ship's functions are essentially ran by the mind of the pilot so he or she can be placed in setting with a floating avatar, a matrix style background surrounding them, and holographic command windows that come and go at a single thought. When they open communications with somebody else they are seeing that persons persona as well and not just a tub of goo with slime all over the lens.

Clear skies has already been done.

Let's not tempt ccp to divert more resources away from the game.

This...this...this...^^^ Love George for Star Wars IV, V, VI but the rest...the last person I want to see doing any show based on EVE is George Lucas.

If ever there was a movie made about EVE I'd have Ridley Scott do it.
