Star background flickers

Yea, as the title says, the star background over the last week has really started to flicker for me. It will jump in brightness while l'm in system sometimes, but I can also reproduce it about 50% of the time by jumping into the system (the stars will be too bright) then entering warp (where they then dim again for a while). Anyone else ever se this? Filled bug report.

What I get is the stars will be somewhat dim, then brighten and twinkle, then go back to dim. And it does not happen uniformly over the entire screen, but can be "patchy" or effect just the bottom half.

Yeah I noticed this several months ago. It's as though the star field graphics aren't getting anti-alliased. A few jumps and it goes away (for me), but back after dock/undock. ATI graphics.
